I have 3 cats, nothing special just regular cats, One cat for some reason when she is in my room for awhile I start to sneeze & my eyes get all watering, when the other two cats are there no problem, So do you think you can be allergic to one cat and not the others? I'm soooo confused!!

it sounds ike you either have an unusual breed or a cat with a skin or fur condition. In some cases people have a mild allergy to cats that they don't notice, until they get a cat with a different type of fur. Certain skin conditions on cats can also be the cause of the allergy. My best friend thought she was allergic to her new kitty and took it to the vet, hoping they could find it a new home. What they found was a type of skin mite and gave her a shampoo. Kitty's happy now and no signs of allergies.

Maybe the one cat has more dander than the others which causes the allergic reaction(s). I've never heard of someone being allergic to only one cat, but I don't see why it couldn't happen!

Of course you can! Animals have individual differences, too! If the cat seems comfortable (not itchy, scratchy, or smelly), treat yourself, not the kitty. A few drops of peppermint essential oil on the back of your neck will go a long way to making you less reactive to your cat.

it isnt the cat u are allergic to, it is the cat saliva.... and it's saliva may be stronger to your sences then the other and it may be the combination of just the three u have being too many for you.... usually if u r allergic to 1 you are allergic to them all.... may want to have an allergy test run, just to be on the safe side
