Yes, in fact! Not everyone, but a lot of the time, when a young man turns 19 (or a young woman at 21) and they choose to go on a mission, they get a "mission call" (a letter from the leaders of our church) to go somewhere and spread the Gospel. It doesn't have to be out of the country, it often is inside the United States, or whatever country they are from. They travel to their mission, and serve for 2 years unless they get sick or choose to go back home. If you'd like to know more, feel free to IM or contact me!

Also, it isn't always just young men or women, older retired couples often choose to serve.

LDS or Latter Day Saints go on missions all over the world.

Missions are not required but recommended. Usually it's young men no younger than 19 years of age. Many young women go as well, but no earlier that 21 years of age. Some are called to go out of country, and there are missionaries in all 50 states.

Hope that helps!

Yes, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a
world wide church, we have missionaries all over the world.
We have young men ages 19-21 full time mision, young women too, and also elderly couples.
They all serve with their own money, and served faithfully.

Mormons try to convert you all the time. Lucky to never have them come to your door when you're just sitting down after a hard weeks work.
