I know of a picnic/park place near my house, and me and some of my friends that all own dogs, want to organize a dog day, where we will have a bunch of events that owners and their dogs compete in and give out small prizes and things like that. I'm in charge of planing events and contests, and i was wondering if you had any ideas. I have a couple, but i need ideas for different breeds or mixes of all sizes. please help. I have ideas of a trick contest, a race, and a food eating contest.

I would try to hook up with a local animal shelter or rescue. And have a donation box for their animals.
Make sure that all dogs attending are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, and are not dog aggressive.
A dog/owner look alike contest would be neat. Set up a simple agility course. Give a prize for physical features such as tallest dog, shortest dog, longest tail, longest ears, etc...

How about animal shelter fund raising? They have something like that every year by me in October...called the Snoopy dogfest. They have all types of vendors. Because it's in October, Of course they're going to have a doggie costume contest. And also the biggest and smallest dog contest....Good luck

You could get your local shelter involved and have an Adopt-a-thon.

1. Genius Dog: in this one you can allow the owners to show their dog's talents and one with the best talents wins.
2. Keep some jumps and water drinking competiton
