You will not shake my Faith

Very grateful. What makes it so sad is when people like you get on here and make fun of someone else dying, especially when he did it for you.

What you see is not as real as God. What you see should prove to you their is a God. If you try and tell me we just became without a creator then you need to go rethink some things. Ask an athiest How the whole universe came about to exist and I mean every galaxy and every star, also the ones still forming. Ask how the earth has one set speed it to turn and one set speed to rotate around the sun. Also the sun is just at the right distance for life to be sustained here on earth which includes billions of diverse lifeforms (That according to athiest just popped out of nowhere or crawled out of the Ocean). Where did the Ocean come from then?. Also ask them to get an empty glass and set it up in their house and go back to the glass 20 or 30 years or more if needed and see whats in it..........you know what would be in it? Still nothing. You have to have a Creator and it scares them. Also for the big bang theory supporters........where did the material that went bang come from and the energy to make it go BANG? I'll tell you God created it and he may have made a "BIG BANG" out of it to put it where he wanted it. I won't dispute that because the Universe is still expanding. All in all the athiests have to many questians to explain themselves that the Bible already explains. I'd rather believe there is a God and die and if there isn't I lose nothing but if there is and I've argued to people he isn't then I would lose alot. Think it over friend. Are you really sure about denying God?

If I had done some truly horrible things and I needed to know that God found a way to pay the price for those sins... well, I don't think I would take much stock in the price of salvation if the only price was getting a slap on the wrist by some Rabbi. Besides, back in those days, the price for sin was a blood sacrifice, they killed an animal. It sounds kind of weird these days, but back then, if you had a stain that you wanted removed, the best remover was blood. (I guess that they had to rinse it out before it dried, but it supposedly worked pretty good.) OK, so there was some correlation between washing away the stain of sin and blood being used as a stain remover. So, to reach people in those days, Jesus had to be the sacrifice.

Now, imagine, it's judgment day! Some poor victim, who had been tortured to death comes to the throne and says "how dare you judge me, you don't know what I've been through!" God can say "I can, most definitely, relate to your experience."

I hope I never have to walk in the shoes of those people, but I'm grateful that what Jesus went through is extreme enough to reach the most extreme personality.

P.S. Did you know that for about 2,000 years people have been trying to prove that what happened in the new testament was just some story, and that time & time again Christians had to pull up physical proof that the events are recorded in history, from sources that are non-Christian. By Jesus' time, Roman's were really into chronicling everything that went on (check out Alexander the Great, he had people following him around, keeping records of his life and conquests). When Jesus died a bunch of people came back to life and came out of their graves. Now, come on, what greedy tax collector, wouldn't want to cash in on those folks, and their superiors were going to want all the data recorded (cause they didn't want to get cheated out of their share).

I don't think anyone can be "grateful" for the suffering of another being. I am grateful for His life on earth because I believe He was a role model for all of us. My own life is a reflection of His walk on earth and His teachings. I treat others with love, forgiveness, compassion, and understanding. I am grateful that the Lord gave His only Son so that all who believe in Him shall not be lost, but have eternal life. True Christians know that once you accept the Lord, you should do your best to stop sinning. You don't live your life sinning and expect to enter heaven. Forgive the Bible quote, but John 5: 29 says, "Then they will come out of their graves. Those who did good will rise and have forever life, but those who did evil will rise to be judged guilty." And just so you know, I have never murdered or raped anyone (most Christians haven't).

Dear Black Atheist,

I am grateful for Jesus, period. Not only did He freely allow His own body to bear the punishment for my sin, but He has done so much for me besides. When He willingly gave His life for me He bridged the access to the God of the Universe that had been broken through the willful rebellion of our first ancestors, Adam & Eve. Beyond that, if Heaven were never promised to me, or the future of eternal life were not a sure reality, Christ has made life worth the living, every day! He is for the here & now, not just the far-off future. My ongoing relationship with Him is on some days all that gives any hope. He is my comforter, my best friend; He accepts me unconditionally. I don't have to jump through any hoops for Him. He knows me down to the marrow in my bones, and I didn't have to do anything to get Him to love me like this. When I have been rejected by others, He has been constant. When my spouse of 25 years left me, He let me know with clarity that He would never leave or forsake me. So, in answer to your question, am I grateful? You bet! My heart breaks when I consider His sacrifice. No greater love is ever shown than when one freely lays down his or her life for a friend. Yes! I am a friend of God because of what Jesus did, and I'm forever grateful. Thanks for a great question! Becky

Absolutely, otherwise I would have to go to hell and pay the wages for my own sins. Do I live as though I'm grateful, I try to the best of the abilities Christ grants me everyday - I fail miserably, I'm human, but I get up, dust off the dirt, and keep going. I don't want his dying for my sins to have been for nothing. He told me to reach and care for others, so I do. He told me to spread the gospel news, so I do. He told me to treat others the way I want to be treated, so I do. And when I don't, I feel guilt - something a lot of people never experience anymore and it's sad that they don't, because it causes me to repent, and be even more grateful that he took my punishment, because I don't think I could love myself enough, let alone anyone else, to go through what he went through.

Jesus knew the path that he had to take. If he had not taken it all human kind would be lost. I am not happy he had to suffer. I am, however, very grateful for the sacrifice he made on the behalf mankind.

I am no christian, but I am certainly grateful that Jesus believed that he was sacrificing himself for the sins of others. All of the others who died a similar death at the time had no such comfort. Faith is very useful and practical form of pain relief.

Jesus became sin for us, and God's Son atoned for my sins with a hideous death designed to maximize pain. Therefore no question as to how the Father felt about sin and what it deserved. But Jesus rebuked the suggestion that he NOT die for us in this way. What do we do? We let God be God.

Lest people forget, Jesus was beaten, tortured, and killed, because certain people of the time feared Him. And yes, I am greatful that He was so selfless that He would sacrifice Himself for me.
