I do not think the dinosaurs will be back in 200 million years, unless we somehow create them (a la Jurassic Park). It took nature over four *billion* years to come up with dinosaurs. (They first appeared a little over 230 million years ago.) And the earth was quite different then. There were no mammals or birds, no flowering plants, and no grass. Trees were different, too. Carbon dioxide was much more abundant in the air, so (due to the greenhouse effect) surface temperatures were higher. And the earth was even more foreign in the millions of centuries preceding the dinosaurs, when their ancestors were evolving.
Since evolution would be unlikely to result in those same creatures even under the same conditions, it seems highly unlikely dinosaurs (in the familiar sense) could evolve from today's conditions.
Almost as sure as I am that dinosaurs won't return, I'm sure that humans will make their exit. If we and our progeny can avoid destroying *ourselves*... in a series of nuclear attacks, by releasing a deadly new virus, or by so destroying the environment that it can no longer support us (or via dozens of other suicides), we'll have only to deal with *natural* killers.
But one such natural force (perhaps a large impact by an extraterrestrial object, or increased volcanism) evidently wiped out the dinosaurs. Politicians and at least some of the public seem pretty indifferent to a plan to search for--and move or destroy--potentially deadly asteroids. So even if we don't destroy ourselves, we may face the same fate as the "terrible lizards" did.
If we could survive for another 200 million years, we may evolve to a barely recognizable form. But there are too many potential disasters, too little knowledge about the earth and the cosmos, and too much unchecked human aggression for me to believe we will be around that long.
Interestingly, the dinosaurs lasted far longer than we have so far. In their reign, they never acquired the means to annihilate themselves, as we have, already. What are our chances?
If the human race is good for the galaxy in some way, I hope our descendants will have the wisdom, the motivation, and the resources to move at least some humans off the earth. It may be the only hope of continuing the species beyond a terrestrial catastrophe.

Well there has probably been species that have gone extinct before, and found their way back, so I think its very possible that they could re evolve, I'm not sure if humans would go extinct though. I was watching a documentary today, about The woolly mammoth (although its not technically a dinosaur), and some scientists found a carcass completely intact with hair and skin cells preserved because of the cold. And they took some samples and are going to attempt to clone the mammoth, they have 2 methods of doing so. I only remember 1 though. To fertilize an Indian elephants eggs, and if they succeed then there will be more mammoths around. If the can clone a woolly mammoth, why cant they clone dinosaurs. I personally think they should find a way to clone herbivore dinosaurs. That way theres not any real harm to us humans.

Will be back from what? Extinction ? Why?
Evolution is the normal driving force so what will be will be. Darwinism does not now apply to human existance (natural selection has been superceded by social engineering). I think humanity will be extinct within 200 million years but superceded by what?

Nah, I think the bugs will take over. When we kill ourselves off, we'll screw the planet up so bad that no big life forms will survive. That'll give insects a head start on evolution, so we'll probably wind up with beetles the size of SUV's.
