Why does this guy below have a Navy screen name and not know anything about the Navy. Navy has everything to do with the Marines and the Marines arent there own branch. They Marines are a compontent of the Navy same as Coast Guard. Im not even in the Navy or Marines and know that. I think we have a faker or this site.

The seabees have nothing to do with the Marines. The seabees are a navy component and the marines are their own service. Generally the Marines destroy stuff and seabees come in afterword to rebuild infrastructure. Also the Marine Corps has their own Constuction Battalions that deploy along with front line units.

I'm not aware of any particular time they haven't. I disagree with a few of the answers though. The Marine Corps is a separate branch of service under the Dept. of the Navy. The CB's are definately navy. They do get some Marine Corps basic infantry training. They are different from marine engineers in that the engineers are in fact marines. I never knew them to abandon marines but I sure do remember one night when they accidently fired tear gas in a marine base camp....that cost them some beer.

P.S. I just read lana_sands comment. I then went and checked your other questions. If you have some specific incident in mind you should just spell it out and ask. I don't know of ANY incident that ever happened that would fit the description of abandonment. You know at times in war higher commands make decisions involving movement of units from one place to another. Sometimes two or more units might have formed a defensive perimeter and one gets ordered to move out. This is not an abandonment. If you have some misconception that something like that occured you need to be specific.

3 questions about Seabees? What is your deal? Your question is silly on many levels. The primary job of the seabees is to provide constuction and engineering support building port and base facilities. They build stuff for Marines all the time. From airfields to Heads. So I say again, what is your deal?

NEVER, They have always supported the Marines in wars. They Have been around for a long time and will continue to be. They can and do support all branches of the services. They are part of the Navy, But do alot of training at Marine Bases. They have a good working relationship.
