Revelation 18 is about Mystery Babylon and that is a City located in Iraq. 9/11 happended in New York City. Revelation 18 takes palce 7 years after Jesus comes and takes the church in the Rapture. It has nothing to do with America. None of The Book Of Revelation has anything to do with America. It deals with Israel as a Nation and the 10 Kingdoms that will be ruled by the Antichrist surrounding it.

What you see is not as real as God. What you see should prove to you their is a God. If you try and tell me we just became without a creator then you need to go rethink some things. Ask an athiest How the whole universe came about to exist and I mean every galaxy and every star, also the ones still forming. Ask how the earth has one set speed it to turn and one set speed to rotate around the sun. Also the sun is just at the right distance for life to be sustained here on earth which includes billions of diverse lifeforms (That according to athiest just popped out of nowhere or crawled out of the Ocean). Where did the Ocean come from then?. Also ask them to get an empty glass and set it up in their house and go back to the glass 20 or 30 years or more if needed and see whats in it..........you know what would be in it? Still nothing. You have to have a Creator and it scares them. Also for the big bang theory supporters........where did the material that went bang come from and the energy to make it go BANG? I'll tell you God created it and he may have made a "BIG BANG" out of it to put it where he wanted it. I won't dispute that because the Universe is still expanding. All in all the athiests have to many questians to explain themselves that the Bible already explains. I'd rather believe there is a God and die and if there isn't I lose nothing but if there is and I've argued to people he isn't then I would lose alot. Think it over friend. Are you really sure about denying God?

All the things that have been happening, including 9/11 are warnings to us as a nation, that we need to get back to God. The events that Revelation 18 describe will be taking place after the rebuilding of the Temple in the Middle East, which they are in the process of doing. Until that happens, there will always be wars and rumors of war and also until that event takes place, Christ will not return.

Because, Babylon was "noted" for religious practices!

The World Trade Towers were for Businesses. Big differences. So for Rev. 18th's fulfillment, you need to be looking for "another Babylon the Great, the Harlot" that the Merchants and Kings will miss. Sounds allot like Religious institutions to me. After all, how many Korans, Bible, Bhagavad-Gita's, and other Holy Books are sold each year??? How many religious Book stores are in your town? The Catholic Church is the SINGLE LARGEST landowner in the United States. Think what a land grab that would be, all the property, hospitals, churches, seminaries, monasteries, nunneries, old folks homes, and on and on, not counting the Protestant faiths!

How many religious people visit the rulers of your and other countries? Do they meet and agree with them? Why? Over 2/3rd's of the World's Nations are atheistic (look it up), but the business is tremendous. Just the Pope coming to a State or Nation raises billions in revenue.

Yes, Babylon will be missed when she is destroyed!

I can see why you would say that, if you believed that the US is the evil place spoken of in that passage.

Personally, I would agree that there are aspects of the US culture that are not pleasing to God. But I don't believe that that is what is spoken of in that particular passage.

That passage speaks of a whole city destroyed and burning. So much so that merchants and travelers pass buy and mourn the loss of the city.

On 9/11 there was only a small, very small, portion of the city that was burning. No comparison.

Sorry.

Well that one Christian needs to read more carefully. It says the great city was no more. Two buildings does not a city make. It also goes on to say that no one buys "her" goods anymore. New York City is still thriving.

Since the imagery does bring the World Trade Center disaster to mind, we need to be careful not to draw such quick....and careless....conclusions, without comparing the scripture accurately to what really has happened. And the verses do not match up with New York; it still stands and still is doing business.

First of all it wasn't an angel that caused the destruction.

And I don't believe it was people doing "God's work".

I do see some simillarities but I don't thing this fits.

There are other cataclysmic events that were supposed to happen before events of Rev. 18.

It is good that you are paying attention. Keep up the good work.

Because the events of 9/11 happened in the US... Rev. 18 is talking about Babylon...

Because it says that no one will EVER buy from her again. This is not true. (18:11)

It says that the riches and splendour are NEVER to be recovered. This is not true. (18:14)

It says no workman of any trade will EVER be found there. This is not true. (18:22)

God's prophecies come true, 100%, always. This is still a future event.

maybe this will help answer your question:
these are not my words
I wanted to say a few things concerning the events in New York city on 9-11-01. If you have read my website or as you do, you will see that I write concerning massive destruction on the east coast of the USA. I write that New York City with its financial areas, as well as Washington DC including the Pentagon would be wiped out. I want to say at this time that the events on 9-11-01 "ARE NOT" the events I write about concerning the Book of Revelations and the endtimes. These are only a prelude to those coming events which (when they start) will be caused by an asteroid hitting in the Atlantic Ocean.
The events on 9-11-01 are only a "TYPE" or a prelude to the coming events which will carry
"FAR MORE" destruction than these terrorist attacks. The events in Revelations Chapter 8 will be 'FAR MORE' devastating than these attacks. The events in Revelations closely parallel these attacks, yet the events in Revelations will be far worst. The events in Revelations will cause the SUDDEN downfall of America.
As I see it this is a warning.
Rev. 18:4+5 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, "Come out of her my people, that you may not participate IN HER SINS and that you MAY NOT RECEIVE OF HER PLAUGES; for HER SINS have piled up as high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities."
How is it that the Holy Spirit says 'COME OUT OF HER'? For we people of God have become joined with this HARLOT through our 'UNION' with her. We read in 1 Cor.6:14-16 "Do you not know that your 'bodies' are MEMBERS of Christ? Shall I then take away the members of Christ and make them members of a HARLOT? MAY IT NEVER BE! Or do you not know that the one who joins himself to a harlot is one body with her? For He says, The two 'WILL' become one flesh.
The church is to be preparing for her wedding. Yet we have fallen in love with this unholy world system which America is the ruler over. We have sent aside our wedding preperations as we have been lured into the bedroom of the harlot. As the word says, we shall become 'one flesh' with her. No, we have not lost our salvation, but we have left our first love. We are being led by our flesh and not the Holy Spirit, through our born again spirit. It says that the two shall become 'one flesh'. This is truly a 'FLESHLY' attraction, yet we have been led by our flesh to this world harlot. We have found her to be full of a wordly glory that we could not resist. Will we turn from her and turn back to our first love? Or we will still long for her in her present condition?
As I said this "IS NOT YET" 'the beginning' of the end. It is a warning and a prelude of the things to come. It could start tomorrow or years from now, yet it is coming.
It is a warning, Love not the world nor the things of the world. Prepare the way of the Lord and repent!!!!
You will read and understand much concerning Babylon and the USA as you read on. Babylon is full of evil, yet it is also the glory of the world, the best that the world has to offer. The most powerful, properous, important (in the natural sense) country in the world. It offers the world all that the world desires. The Saints also are generally held captives by it, as they desire all that Babylon has to offer.

"Dec.29 2004"
And now another look into what an asteroid hitting into an ocean and what its affects would be!
The earthquake and tsunami that has hit Indonesia.
If a asteroid hits in an ocean, it will cause 'much' larger waves, with 'much' more destruction. You can now see a clear picture of the damage, death, and destruction from such waves. If very large waves are created by an asteroid hitting in an ocean they would be 600 ft high or more. If such waves came ashore in a area such as the east coast of the United States, the death and destruction would be beyond our imagination. Such waves would also cross the Atlantic Ocean and and hit many other countries. This would change the world as we know it, bring on the great tribulation and quickly bring the Anti-Christ to power. As you read my website you will see that all this is about to take place.
And its all been hidden in "The Book of Revelation". Until now!

The current war on terror is just another Holy War.

President George W Bush has made it clear that he reads the Bible, prays to God, and that God told him to invade Iraq. Very recently he referred to the USA’s war against terror as a war against Islamic Fascists. The other side, the Islamic Fascists, of course refer to G W Bush and the USA as Christian Infidel Dogs and so the Holy War of Words go on, like good Christians at war against the Axis of Evil.

The above is quite mild to all the evil religious words being thrown by each side, but of course, it doesn’t stop there does it. The same sides, Christianity and Islam, are physically at war with each other, murdering innocent men, women and children in the process.

Humanity has a horrific track record of atrocities and killing caused by religion, and this war seems to be no different, just another Holy War in the name of religion, inflicting it’s madness once again onto humanity. Religion is so evil, it has even infected the President of the United States of America.
