When you're sad, he tries to cheer you up and when you're happy, he's happy along with you. Basically, he'll always be right there by your side no matter what if he's really in to you. Now there's that other kind of boyfriend who just uses you for sex, who never cares how you feel or at least pretends he cares but its obvious he doesn't and all he wants to do is have sex with you and then BOOM, he's l suddenly lost interest in you and for all you know he could be sleeping with another girl behind you're back.
