Until recently I was volunteering about 30 hours a week at an assisted living facility and another 2-3 at a senior center. I just got a new job and it takes a lot of my time and energy so I'll be cutting back a lot. At the assisted living I visit with residents, do lots of paperwork, help with staff education, call bingo numbers, help residents feed themselves and almost anything else. At the senior center I package meals on wheels and set up tables and stuff.

Yes, but my time is limited. As a result, I do less than I could. I serve on the board of two non-profits. One helps poverty-stricken parents attend college and one helps battered women build new lives. I would like to say that this has all been out of unselfish love for humanity. I used to be able to say that very thing. However, in the past few months, I have begun making money by producing publicity for several non-profits. I don't do work for organizations I don't believe in, but I also have to feed my child. Nonetheless, I am somewhat polluted now.

I coach Special Olympic athletes. I am the "Athletics" (which is Track and Field) coach and the "Long Distance Running" (Cross Country) coach. Both seasons are about 4 months long. The practices are 2-3 times per week for about 2 hours each, but there is a lot of prep work and paperwork involved. I also spend time assisting my church youth groups.

I give the finger daily to every tailgater driving on my car's rear end and to people who never use turn signals for lane changes daily. Also, I prevent accidents by sitting at red lights where it's posted no turn on red. I think I may have saved a few hundred lives because I know the rules of the road and practice it as if my life and other lives depend(ed) on it. Really.

I volunteer once a month packing pantry bags (food, paper products, personal care items, etc.) for pick up by HIV/AIDS patients who are unable to make ends meet due to the cost of medications.

I also donate clothing (in good shape), paper products, craft supplies and plastic grocery bags to local non-profits that need them.
