Doesn't this prove the point that you Bible thumping, backwoods, blathering fools need to update your religion and get out of the stone age?

To jimbob, its not a hasty genralization! I went to many baptist churches for many years and Everyone in the baptist community condemned me for my belief in evolution! Like I said, who are people to judge how God created? I think if he chose billions of years to complet his task, it was his business!

Galations 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
In my opinion, from years of studying the Bible and following Christ, the positive verses (towards women) in the Bible refer to what God's perfect will is. But God doesn't force anything upon us; He first shows us the value of doing it His way. It took awhile to bring about the changes God desired because He allows us to keep our freewill while gently leading us in His direction. Woman also have to realize the truth of Galatians 3:28 and they still need to believe it more today.
Men needed to get to the point in their relationship with God to allow themselves to see that being equal with women was what God was trying to show them. The Bible is pretty clear about that if you look for it.
In the negative verse (towards women) in the Bible about women not being in authority over a man or teaching a man, I believe these were situational in nature.
Let me explain, Paul was dealing with real life issues with people who hadn't yet learned all that God had for them to learn, and these situations had to do with the culture at the time they were living in. These were not long term eternal commands given to govern the conduct of women forever; they were forms of discipline Paul used to instruct the believers who were having a particular problem.
There have been many scriptures throughout the Bible that have been specifically written to a specific situation. As an example, in Deuteronomy 24:1-3 Moses give instructions for a person to be divorced. In Matthew 19:6-8 Jesus told the people that Moses permitted divorce as a concession to their hard-hearted wickedness, but it was not what God had originally intended.
God is very practical. He allowed the writers of His Word to deal with specific situations. We are still dealing with divorce today and I’m sure if a woman starts standing up and yelling questions at the preacher during a sermon, she might again be instructed to wait and talk to her husband at home. (And if men were doing this: they would have probably been corrected in the same way.) It was never meant to be taken as an eternal commandment. We need to read the Bible with guidance from the same Spirit under whose power it was written.
Finally, I believe women should be allowed to preach, teach, minister, be a man's boss, be a wife, a mother, a sister, a lover, lead a government, or lead a church. It takes us big tuff men some time to understand Galatians 3:28, but we are getting there.
God is still teaching his Church and reaching his Church.
I pray for that congregation, that they see God's perfect will.
On earth as it is in heaven.

is not a church, religious organization, etc., just like any other business who does deal in money, salaries, services, etc. Can not a boss or the board of directors determine who does and who does not work in or for an organization. Can they not set the standards and guidelines in respect to who does and who does not qualify?
I for some reason seem to see two facts or issues mixed in a thought and the results is a mess and confusion.
Fact 1: it was a lady teacher in the Baptist church headed by the minister and a board of directors. Fact 2: the head of that specific church and the board of directors were of the opinion that a woman should not teach men in the church, that specific church. With that clear what is the big deal that makes this single act of someone not being qualified to do a job being removed from a job. What right does anyone else have to tell me what rules I can put in place in my business or household as long as I do not violate any law that will put me in jail. That Baptist minister has just as much right to run his business as he sees fit of course with the approval of the church board as a newspaper published has to fire one who can not read in the editing department. If they are not qualified by the rules they should not be filing the position and getting the rewards or benefits even if it is just satisfaction and not money.
Why don't the teacher just go to another place where she can teach or change the mind of the board and get the preacher fired.
Just the thoughts of a "NO" who sometimes does see things different from others OK. I don't ask others to accept my views. That is their choice. I just smile and enjoy posting them.

What it proves is the man is just one blithering imbecile and it says nothing about the religion on the whole. If the decision was sent down by the governing body of the Baptist church then you might have a point. But just one minister, is not a reason to lash out condemning the whole Christian Religion.
So I must answer NO to your question as I feel you are over re-acting to one little isolated incident. Take a deep breathe and relax. Religion will eventually catch up with modern day living.

Sadly, this pastor neglected to completely read Paul's message.
Paul put women in charge of entire churches, although he did state that it was a hardship on a woman to be a pastor and felt that it was best if a woman did not teach.
Paul also stated that for a pastor to be single was best, but if he had a burning passion for a woman that it was better to be married.
I do not wish to publically put down this man, for I know nothing of his personality or his heart.
We, as Christians can be as wrong and as sinful as a non believer, the difference is when we find out we are wrong, we repent and resolve to sin that sin no more. I pray that this pastor continues to study Pauls writings and the cultural influences that he was trying to overcome while teaching the word of God to new believers who did not have scripture to learn from.

You and I are on the same page in thinking that this guy's off his rocker. But as a Baptist and a former Sunday School teacher myself (who taught for several years with female colleagues), I can attest that lots of Baptist churches do not affirm this guy's decision. Indeed, women have had an important teaching role in our congregation for generations, according to my relatives.
Watch the hasty generalizations, pal - stick to the facts.

First, every religion has a right to extend their own qualifications, even if they are not PC.
This one, however, is RIGHT in my neighborhood and I'm quite shocked because Upstate NY is very progressive.
It is simply time for her to find another Church and maybe a fair amount of other people will join her if she was that good and leave the MAN alone in his own Cathedral.
That would serve him right!
If not, then maybe he IS speaking for the Majority.
A friend of mine's mother, a woman, is an ordained minister in the Syracuse area of NY, so there ARE other chuch philosophies this woman can server if she really wants to!

Supposedly because according to scripture a woman cannot teach or preach the gospel. She says it is because of a disagreement she had with the governing board.
