Assuming you're talking late December rather than the first of December, it may be possible. That would give you basically 4 months from now. I lost 30 in 3 months on Atkins, and that was with fairly modest cheating. Of course I weighed 285 to begin with. If you're not that big, 50 in 4 months may be a stretch. You mentioned Hollywood diet and being "sooo hungry". I can honestly say in the 3 months I lost 30 lbs on Atkins I was NEVER hungry. Good luck

drinl tons and tons or water whenever you start feeling hungry. eat a good breakfast, healthy lunch, then a meal at around 4pm it should be big and nutrition like a dinner only earlier and dont eat anything after that. it does get hard to not eat in the evening but you can satisfy cravings during the day as long as they are within a healthy portion. no foods are completely off limits. if you stick with it, it will work. good luck

Well, you are only looking at 50 lbs in 4 months. That's actually possable. And there are healthy ways to do it too. The first thing to do is buy a GOOD multivitamin. Then go into your cupboards and throw out those useless 10" plates. You don't need that much food. EVER. The large plate gives us the mental impression we need to eat more even if we don't. Use the smaller plates and you will have the appearance of a FULL plate with healthy servings.
Next kick high fat, high salt and high sugar foods right out of your diet. Allow yourself only ONE serving of this junk a week. That's your "reward" for doing well the rest of the week. A croissant with low fat cream cheese and fresh fruit sliced on it makes a GREAT meal, even a desert! Find creative ways to use HEALTHY foods and you can get some great meals.
Fast food is now your enemy. They don't have ANYTHING you need. Even their salads are misleading. Yes, you get a healthy portion of salad in a side salad, but they serve it with enough fatty dressing to cover enough salad for a family of 4!
Limiting yourself to just one type of food is only going to make you sick, or make you HATE that food. And then you will either break the diet and binge, or the day you go off it you'll pick up your old habits and end up with MORE weight than you need to lose now. Teach yourself NEW eating habits. Forget the "3 meals a day". Learn to nibble. If you're hungry, grab fruit or veggies, or half a sandwich. Eat in small amounts more frequently.
Now comes the part no one wants to do. Excercise. To lose 50 lbs in 4 months you are going to have to work your tail off. Literally. Jogging can give you a good rush while burning off lots of caleries. Also try aerobics and isometric excercises. If you are sitting down watching TV, do excercises. Ride an excercise bike, walk on a treadmill, other excercize machine or do those excercises with the giant rubber ball. Use your body constantly. Yes, muscle weighs more than fat, but a slim well toned body that weighs 130 looks better than a scrawny flabby body that weighs 110. To improve flexability try Yoga and Pilates. Once you've reached your goal you can reduce the excercise, but you'll also be in the habit of excercising and will keep enough of it to maintain a healthy shape.
And yes, this is NOT just someone saying the usual "eat right and excercise" mantra. I've done it. When I left my ex-husband I was a 360 pound beach ball. I MASSIVELY changed my diet and lost a lot of weight. Of course, then I got crazy with the food thing and became nearly anorexic, but I did lose 180 lbs in 8 months. I've gained control over my eating problems now and am healthy and at my ideal weight. I work out half an hour a day and eat healthy foods. Once I trained myself to eat what I needed rather than what I was used to eating, everything got easy. Resteraunts always give you WAY too much food and the average American thinks that's a "healthy portion".
Oh, and eat slower. Take small bites and chew well. When you eat quickly you are eating long after you are technically full. It takes about 20 minutes for your body to decide it's full. If I eat as quickly as some of my friends do I can eat three peices of pizza. ( I love pizza). On the other hand, when I eat slowly and really ENJOY the taste of the pizza rather than just shoving it in there, I usually eat 1 slice or less.
Remember, starving yourself wont work because not only will you make yourself sick, thin your hair out and damage your skin, nails and teeth, but you'll rebound when you do break the diet. Eat sensible portions of healthy food and excercise. It works better than any fad diet out there.

Well, if you're so well educated, why are you asking us? It would seem like you could go to one of the gazillion internet sites, pop a pill or mix a shake, and voila, you'll be 50 pounds down.
Soooo...why did you ask this, again??
Educate yourself on a search engine. There are plenty of fad diets you can try to lose the weight before December. They advertise SlimQuik all the time.

Hi
Try this simple plan it really worked for me so here goes,
If you are serious about losing weight, the calories in the food you eat should be less than the energy you use. You will have to increase your metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will lose weight faster. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/m7ckx

I can't guarantee how much or how quickly you will lose that weight, but my rule of thumb for staying healthy and managing my weight -- eat as much as you want, laugh as often as possible, but stay away from any "food or drink" that you see and hear advertised on the T.V. or radio. Good luck.
