It depends on how hot the climate is.
Some reciepies require eggs to be added at room temperature.
As for cheese, store in the fridge but serve at room temperature before eating it. Far better flavour.
The colder something is the more tastebuds get knocked out. Try drinking white wine at room temperature and see how bad it tastes. Fine Dining restaurants serve cheese at room temperature, and most of them do it from a cheese trolley which isnt refridgerated, that has been wheeled around the restaurant for 4 hours.

Eggs, yes, no doubt. But some cheeses do ok for a while at room temp. Not too long, but a few days. In general, the harder the cheese, the longer it's safe. And with most cheeses, if they do develop a mold on the corner, you can cut it off and consume it safely. After all, that's what cheese is, mold

yes and yes again! Cheese has to be kept chilled, and eggs need to be in the fridge too that is why most fridges have designated spaces for about 12 eggs!

I would refrigerate both but.. Eggs can be kept at room temp. for a time but will stay fresher longer refrigerated. As far as cheese goes it depends on the type of cheese but almost any thing you will buy at a regular grocery will need to be refrigerated. Some types of processed cheese products do not have to be.

It is coming up to the winter. All produce has a sell by date. you do not need a fridge. The bloody food will last, in or out of a fridge until its stupid sell by (buy) date, even then, there is a couple of days leeway, it is just for their protection, not yours. Rule of thumb many years ago in the dark ages of the 60's and 70's 80's etc even now, is IF IT SMELLS ROTTEN OR LOOKS GREEN ...CHUCK IT OUT. Never keep eggs in a fridge. Not natural.

To add to everyone else...yes.
Keep eggs away from foods with strong odours such as spiced meat and onions because they absorb the smells and then start to taste like whatever they were place near.
Cheese needs to be wrapped up tight once it has been opened and put back into the fridge because it starts to go hard around the edges. It makes it last longer as well.
Hope this helps. Have fun at uni. :)

Yes, Eggs are preferred to be stored in refrigerator especially during summer because you get rotten egg smell while you break the egg or prepare omelette if it is not stored.
In case of cheese, it defenitely spoils early and because milk products are sure to spoil early if not stored properly. Therefore it is safe to use cheese before the expiry date even if stored in a refrigerator

Have you been on earth for a good portion of your life or are you new? Of coarse you need to what would make you think an egg or cheese could go in a cupboard?

The best way to know the answer to this question is when you are in a grocery store buying the food, if it is already in the refrigerated section, then it needs to go in the refrigerator. Also, remember to read the label, since some foods say refrigerate after opening.

I've actually seen in writing, from a very old and renowned
London cheese specialist that the fridge is not good for cheese. Comments anyone?
