I get this message when I use my HP IMAGE ZONE PLUS SOFTWARE WITH MY HP PAVILIAN a 730n P.C. and with my HP PSC 2355 ALL-IN ONE

It sound like a coding problem. Somewhere the makers of the program messed up. I don't know any specifics about what you are trying to do EXACTLY, but uninstalling and resinstalling the software might work because sometimes it's just a Read/Write error when installing. Also check the manufacturers website for updated software releases. They release new versions all the time to correct problems that they miss. If you are using the original software off the CD that came with your equipment, then I could almost certainly assure you that there is an update since that CD was made.

It sounds like your giving it a file (in this case picture) that is corrupt or your file name is bad, etc...
Its trying to serialize some data which means its trying to dump a class instance into a file, the class instance is probably the pictures structure (ie size, coloring, etc) thats why my above guess its my best idea.
