if you disagree with something in the bible, they remind you that it's the way to heaven and jesus loves everyone and then cut you down or judge you for not sharing their beliefs?

A true christian would not tell you anything like this. They would just say a pray for you because they know that only God can judge you. At the same time, they might try to convince you to listen to them because Jesus does love you. He died on the cross for YOU!!!
We as human, not Christians, tend to try to convince others that our way is the right way.
Its just human nature. I am sure you do the same thing, maybe not for religion, but for something you believe in.

I have never judged anyone for not sharing my beliefs. I will defend my beliefs because I believe in the Lord with all of my heart, but I try to do it in a way that isn't hurtful to others. If you truly believed that the only way into heaven was to believe in Jesus, wouldn't you want to share that with as many people as possible? A true Christian (someone who believes in and who follows the teachings of Jesus) would never say anything to hurt another human being. Jesus taught us that the greatest command is to love each other. He didn't say, "Love only those who are the same as you."

Nope. Tell you what I HAVE noticed, though. People who often speak in careless exaggerations and generalizations tend to consider even a polite, mild warning from a Christian as a put-down or a negative judgment. Has a Christian actually told you to f*ck off? I very much doubt it, but even if one has, why do you try to make it sound as if Christians as a group behave that way? You're not being very honest when you exaggerate and generalize about people to make them look bad.

One last thought: Have you ever heard the expression, "Jesus loves you. Everyone else thinks you're an @$$hole."?

I'm not passing judgement on all Christians, but.....I have been told by some people of the Christian faith that if I don't understand how they interpret the bible.....that it is because I do not have enough faith.

I've also been told that faith in the Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven. So I read the bible and read Jesus' words and question the concept of religion based on Jesus' own words.....and still I am told....Faith, just have faith.

So, I don't know if it's me or if it's them. But I continue to learn and try to keep an open mind.....having faith that one day....I will get it!

I can only speak for me. I will tell you if you are wrong. If you ask if something is a sin for example. However I try to also remind people that God still loves them no matter what their sin is. I want them/ you to know that we all have sinned and still can receive forgiveness. Now if I said that there were no sins then I could not very well tell you that you could be forgiven because there would be nothing to be forgiven from.
At times I forget to do this with tenderness. Sorry, I am just a sinner. I never claimed to be perfect or anything close to it. I don't intend to wait until I achieve some unrealistic level of perfection before I try to witness to people.
So, You sin, I sin and God still loves us.

I never noticed that. Does someone telling you "Jesus loves you" bother you? Are you feeling you should accept him as your Saviour and you are fighting it. I have never had a real born again Christian tell me to F off. That is not Christian like. Sounds like your accusing the whole bunch because of a few. Get real friend, posting on Yahoo answers isn't the answer. Sounds like you need Jesus. He is "The way, the Truth and the life".

I disagree with alot of the people who are religious. Some of them don't know what there religion really means, or the religion is just twisted in the first place. If they are true followers, why do they contradict the direction there faith is suppose to be leading them to? They should be accepting for any type of belief that comes across their path. Even if they don't agree with it! If we cannot understand and get along in peace and harmony with each other, it is sure to lead to a conflict. *cough**cough*

crabby cakes,
I don't think that I can even do that. I have seen some posing as Christians trying to give it a bad name. Maybe you got a message from them?

Why does everybody who complains leave out the example that they are talking about?

Let me try it anyway, I kinow there is a way to do it.

Look, if you want to come to Jesus it's because He wants to draw you in. If he is not drawing you in and you are just trying to cause trouble, **** off!

Damn! That was still two sentences. I guess I couldn't do it today!

The people who react this way may believe that Jesus is their Savior but they are not practicing (or walking the walk) the guidelines and example that Jesus himself gave us. Remember that 'faith' without works is dead.
