You're not alone. Please take a moment to read Romans 7. Paul expresses much of the same sentiments. To overcome sin, I've found these things helpful:
1. Become a Christian. Without the power of the Holy Spirit inside of you, it is difficult to overcome sin on our own. (After all, if we could do it on our own, Jesus would not have had to die for us.) The Holy Spirit is given to all Christians at the moment of salvation to help us overcome sin in our lives.
2. Be proactive when it comes to sin. Don't wait until the temptation comes. Have a plan ahead of time on how to deal with it before you are in the middle of the temptation.
3. As part of your proactive plan, memorize Scriptures that will help you fight off the desire to sin. You need to have these verses available at all times. Psalm 119:9, 11
4. Do whatever you can to avoid times/places/people who make the temptation worse. For instance, if you have a temptation to drink, avoid going to bars or avoid friends that you used to go drinking with. If you find pornography as a difficult temptation to avoid and your walk to the subway normally passes a newstand where you normally buy pornography, walk a different route, even it if it longer.
5. Have a close friend who can hold you accountable for your behavior. This needs to be someone who will ask you the "tough" questions and who will pray with you about this issue. It shouldn't be someone with the same temptation, though.
6. Remember that temptation is not the same as sinning. You can be tempted, but not give in. Jesus was tempted by Satan, but He never sinned. In the Greek, the word for temptation and testing is usually the same. God is powerful enough to stop any temptation that will overwhelm us, and He knows what our limits are so that means any temptation that comes our way is a test that God intends us to pass. 1 Corinthians 10:13 tells us that God WILL give us either a way to stand up under the temptation or He will give us a way out of it. It takes away our excuse of "I can't."
7. Remember that temptation is really testing to see if you will choose to please yourself or to please God.
8. Get out and do something else when you feel the temptation coming. Martin Luther is credited with saying, "You may not be able to stop a bird from landing on your head, but you certainly can stop it from building a nest." If you get out and do something, especially serve others in some way, you are keeping the bird from building a nest. If you don't, then you will most likely keep thinking about it until you finally give in.

Just found my answer to this last week at church.
When we become Christians we try to stop all the bad stuff...we think I can't say this, I can't do that , I can't think this....etc.
We need to take time to not only empty out the bad but refill that spot with good. Fill it with his word, service to him, prayer etc. When Jesus released and evil spirit from a man he told him if that place w/ in him remained empty the evil spirit would come back( and bring 7 more w/ him) However, if he filled that empty place w/ the spirit of God, then there would be no room for the evil one. Think of removing that sin and leaving that place empty..the sin will return...fill it w/ something good!!
This is hard and a very big struggle! I have been dealing w/ this myself!! Hope this helps:)

It has to come from God. A human will always be tempted to sin. It is the reaction to the tempting that determines if we sinned. I think dirty stuff, I do stupid things, but I know that that will always be the case. We get better with age and better with time. Our efforts do not go unnoticed. Hang in there and keep praying. Remember, everything happens in His time.

I do not need to over come sin because there is no such a thing as sin in my view, but I do over come the choices I make, there really is not a "good or bad" "right or wrong" they are simply choices we make in our lives and how we deal with the consequences that come from those choices.

I look at Jesus as the ultimate role model of appropriate behavior on earth. I'm sure you have heard the question, "What would Jesus do?". I use that question on a daily basis to remind myself of right and wrong. My life is a reflection of my beliefs in Jesus. It still can be difficult at times to do the right thing, so I pray for the strength, courage, and wisdom to make the right decisions.

Don't concentrate on not sinning as much as you concentrate on saying yes to God's Holy Spirit.
Do the do's and pray for God to help you avoid the don't's.

Well you are suppose to get forgiveness by asking for forgiveness no matter what you do that is sinful, but i guess you could just find a new religion if this one isn't working.

The fact that you "feel like sinning" is better than sinning. Study and meditate on his words daily. Separate ur self from ungodly influences.
