About Evolution. 500 years ago you were put to death by the church if you said that the Earth revolved around the Sun. They would say "Look, I can prove the Sun revolves around the Earth. The Sun Rises and Sun Sets" But once science came along and allowed us to see what is really happening, the church had to change their views.

The same thing must happen with Evolution. Most religions today say it is impossible and not the work of a creator. Most believe that we humans are special, live in a special place and time, one a perfect planet by a perfect God. But with the tools of science, we are seeing our true place. How we evolved and where we are, in the Universe. How all life on this planet is connected.

Religion inhibits the believer from accepting fact. Evolution is a fact, it really happen. Just look around you, you can see it everywhere. We might not look like an oak tree, but at it's most basic level, we are exactly the same. That is a humbling and awe-inspiring thought.

Science isn't about being right and wrong, it is just a tool to understand the mysteries of the cosmos. Religion tries to tell you what those mysteries are. Science tries to solve them. We know how stars shine. How, by the means of Science.

You can see how, even in the answers for this question. How religion is preventing it's believers from understanding and comprehend the awesome power of science and nature. Those who accept and understand Science, begin to evolve. Evolve past a need for a childish belief in God. We long for that parent to take care of us. Most of us it seems, just can't take care of ourselves.

No it is not Possible.

Take evolutions Big Ban Theory.
When did you ever see something Blow up and end up better then it started.
If you could blow something up and have it create intelligent life, Where are the new beings from the bombings and from the planes crashing into the World Trade Center.

They don't exist. Big Bangs Destroy, Not build.
Could you imagine if you could blow up something and it will magically make something.

That would take a miracle! Get it? God is the only way it could happen.

Look at all of creation. How can there be a flea which lays eggs in a camels nostrils so that the camel will sneeze and shoot the eggs into the sand so that they won't be burned by the sun?
You have to grant that to Intelligent Design.
How could they know that that is the only way for their young to be born?

Whatever is your theory of Evolution, Intelligent Design gets the credit for us being here.

God is Real but you have your eyes closed so tight and saying I can't see. Open your Eyes and see all of the Great Things God Has Done For You. All of the while you are saying that He doesn't exist. And there He is.

God Bless you, ;-)

The Earth is Full of the Loving Kindness of The Lord!
Praised Be The Lord!

Charles Darwin developed the "Theory of Evolution"

The bible promotes the "Theory of Creation".

Both are theories. Since no human was here when the earth was formed there is no way to prove either theory.

The best scientists once claimed the world was flat. But they were wrong.

Some Christians predicted Jesus was coming in 1912, but they were wrong. Theory's.....

The time for all of the creatures to develop, rise to dominance and fade into history would "theoretically" take millions of years thereby debunking the biblical seven days.

And yet fossilized remains of oceanic creatures have been found high in some mountain areas suggesting a global flood which was told of by the bible which insists on only seven days of creation.

Evolutionists insist the changes in animals would have taken much longer time than the bible allows.

Creationists say that God can cause things to happen in a different time span than what occurs now. Evolution assumes all things happen now at the same pace as they always have.

Theory's and hypotheses all.
Theory's are NOT facts......

I wonder why people keeping looking back at that particular episode in church history as though it is THE definitive way the church approach the discovery of the sciences. Don't you think you should move on rather than try to live in that era? The church has moved on, in fact, the foundations of modern science is predicated on the shoulders of the Judeo-Christian worldview! Modern science today started with people who believed the Bible, and skeptics would only deny it to expose their utter lack of historical knowledge.

Fact of the matter is, no matter how you want to indict the church for what it did 500 years ago, the Bible NEVER teaches that the sun revolves around the earth, or whether it was the other way round! So that should jolly well settle the issue. Now, as to evolution, the Bible clearly teaches that God CREATED the heavens and the earth. And what we know today in REAL science continues to support this Biblical notion. Is all of creation connected? Yes, in that our very source of existence comes from God who holds all things together!

It is the Judeo-Christian worldview that spurs the advent of modern science. Evolution is not fact, it is fiction. It is a hoax. It is a grand deception hoist upon many people to rob them of their human value and dignity. It is evolution that tells you that you are no different from an oak tree, that can be cut down to serve the interests of others.

Please, realise that you are precious and made in God's image, that you are a moral person, that you have the ability to reason and think and make judgements. You are not a thing. You can think. Or am I talking to a piece of wood, an oak tree?

You are kidding right, you and the maple tree are the same,??

Of course minor evolution does happen, and the example of the early church is not a good one, since of course no where in the Bible does it tell us that the earth was the center of the universe, this was a teaching of man, who controlled the church, not a bibical teachings.

The issue is that God nor some accident created the earth, this is a direct bibical teaching, I can't take the bible and defend the earth as the center of the universe but I can take the bibile and defend creation.

Why can't evolution merely accept that God created it, and that from that he allowed evolution to finish and mature nature.
That would be the most logical, can you really beleive one little cell became grass (all types,) some grass became flowers, and others became trees, and some of these trees became bees or birds.

Or some fish keep going up on land and dying untill some fish finally breathed air ??

And some rabbit keep jumping up into the air untill it flew and then that bird becamse a 100 different types of birds.

Ok which story sounds the most silliest, that story or that God created it.

Evolution has a little word when it bumps up against reasonable challenges from the Creationist side, where they don't know the answer "YET". Well, that's faith, isn't it? And faith implies religious belief. Haven't found common missing links between fish & reptiles, reptiles & birds, "yet". Don't have any idea how life arose from nonliving matter, "yet". Don't know why any animal would want to reproduce since it decreases chance for survival, "yet". No idea why mutations never result in improvement of a species, "yet". Don't talk about evolution being fact until you have facts to back it up. Until then, there are other theories, it's about time you listen.

Don't know about that being-put-to-death-thing, but the man who proposed the heliocentric theory was a Christian. (look it up if you don't believe me.) And people, people, PLEASE stop referring back to the Roman Catholic church of the Middle Ages!!! That was a distorted shell of Christianity, manipulated by politicians under the guise of religion and power-hungry kings.

And Evolution... is... THEORY. I don't know what they taught you in school, but there is absolutely no proof for evolution. All the "missing links" found were either 100% ape, 100% human, or a hoax. The archeopteryx (sp?) fossil proves nothing. There is a bird with claws on its wings- the hoatzin. But the hoatzin isn't a bird-lizard; it's 100% bird. And there are birds with teeth on their beaks. The geologic column is guesswork. If such a column really existed, with all the strata in the correct order, it would extend over 100 miles long! And Carbon Dating isn't entirely reliable.
For the record, I don't know how we're "exactly" the same as a oak tree at the most basic level... A oak tree is a plant; we're living, breathing organisms that can think for ourselves and determine between right and wrong.

See www.drdino.com for more info on creation vs. evolution. It's really very interesting, and the man on that site, Dr. Hovind, really knows what he's talking about.

Evo's say rocks deep underground are the oldest. The 6/8/06 Nature reported about some lumps found in deep rock "that microbes built a few billion years ago." (The Charlotte Observer, 6/8/06, p6A) Microbes can make fossilized rock-lumps ... but the lumps coulda been made by slimes before the Flood ... like only 5000 yrs ago.
NASA's Astrobiology Institute says the lumps show "exactly the type of life astrobiologists are looking for on Mars and elsewhere." (p6A) What's "astrobiology?" The study of space-life. How do you study ... what you have never seen ... or even seen any signs of it?? Being an astrobiologist ... must be a tough job!
NASA says the lumps "are too complicated to be attributed to nonbiological processes" -- Don't evo's all believe ... that all life did come from "nonbiological processes."?! Did NASA ... just say (p6A) that even microbes are "too complicated" for that? These guys contradict themselves -- even in the same sentence -- all the time! I love it. Keep looking for the ill-logic ! Dr J

Evolution is not anywhere near anything that resembles a fact. It is a theory through and through. Nobody can match up what they think happened or when it happened. How can that be considered a fact? Please, don't insult me.

Science and religion are both good instruments for the human mind to discover the mysteries of man and the world around him.
If we base on the mistakes of men in those two fields to make hasty or even unjust criticism, that will be good only for lazy and immature minds who deny both of these two god-given wonderful instruments. And this will lead to disastrous results for all mankind.
Let us humbly, calmly, patiently seek our own mistakes in each field and correct them ourselves; then cooperate with each other to embark on greater projects of discovery of both the world of creation and the world of revelation. Wise people of our days are striving in this constructive way: scientists cooperate in the discovery of the wider space and of the smaller particles of material elements; religious people are cooperating in interfaith, moral and social projects to bind together more strongly all human hearts.
Through His successive Messengers, God has brought man to this age of maturity, let us thankfully recognize this fact and wisely work for the establishment of the divine civiliazation on earth and enjoy our aged-old dream of the Golden Age.
Peace be with all the people of good will.

skunkgrease,
Sorry to break this too you ( not) but your religion (evolution) is something you have a lot of faith in. Evolution in no way disproves God, so your faith has led you atray in that your interpretation of you faith is already leading you away from the scientists that are really scientists. A real scientist has enough brains to know that there is nothing that he is doing to disprove God. His focus isn't even on that subject.

But we have a lot of wanna be internet debators that think they know that Evolution is fact. I think you need to examine your religion closer and discover some facts yourself, instead of reading the headlines an not reading the articles.

Evolution is a theory. You have to have faith in a theory to say it's true. You can just look at what they know, and say that they found the evidence of a dead animal that doesn't seem to be roaming around anymore, that looks like some other animals that we do have roaming around.

You don't have much else.
