What if GOD was to speak to every man, but you brushed HIM off of your shoulders because it did not coincide with your belief? And I am not talking about jesus. So for you christians, lets just call HIM the father for arguments sake. But for everyone else, what if GOD spoke and you brushed HIM off because it did not coincide to your likings or truth?Even if it is your own made up GOD of self.

Good question! I think this happens all the time. It's hard to learn to "live in the moment", and see that some things that seem so coincidental, are in fact more than coincidence.
I hear people say all the time...."YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED TO ME TODAY!
If I brushed God off, when he was talking to me.....I guess I'd be thankful for a question like this....to remind me that maybe....just maybe I've done that before....and try not to do it again.

Any made up god is called an idol. It doesn't matter what you believe, truth is truth whether you believe it or not. If I don't believe in gravity it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. There is only one true God, the God of the Bible, whether you believe it or not.
Romans 1:20-25 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Why should proof of the existence of God cause me to worship him? If I all of a sudden got absolute proof that the Christian God was real, I could not worship him. I couldn't do that because that God sends good people who are not believers to Hell. I could not worship a God that was so evil that he would do that.

I am a Christian so I will not deny Jesus for arguments sake....
People ignore God all the time, he still is there, he still forgives, Jesus died for EVERY sin. He still loves you when you ignore him. As for what happens..I think most of our painful life experiences happen when we ignore God. We think we know better and we mess things instead of following God. So, as hard as it is....follow him, listen to him and you will be blessed.
I have to say...since it sounds like you might not be a Christian...God is love, he would never speak to you to do evil on others ...so if you are hearing "him" speak evil it would not be God:)

"""what if GOD spoke and you brushed HIM off because it did not coincide to your likings or truth? Even if it is your own made up GOD of self""""
Now. Let me understand this............
You brush off God, because you have your own belief and truth? God's truth is not important because you have your own?
sssssssssssssnicker.
My cat is outside at the moment, when She gets back inside, I'll let her answer this. She loves to peck at the keys with her paws.

First of all, I wouldn't brush off GOD because I would not want to be condemned in the everlasting fires of Hell.Secondly, I honestly would not know GOD if I saw Him since no one has seen him. If someone did brush GOD off, then they are probably an atheist.

I am not sure you really tried, but this is a great very deep question,
Trying to take it from a universal view that we look at it as our God the one we beleive, not a god of someone else, but our God speaks to us, so it is the one we are worshiping, and want to follow, So he speaks to us but because we don't want to listen to something that does not go with our personal beleifs of what we think he should want, we don't follow him.
but I think man does this often and it is sad. I don't beleive any god, yours or mine would want all of the killing and murder in the name of any god ( excpet one of those greek gods that was a god of war perhaps(

I wouldn't brush him off. I'd say, "Oh yeah? If you're God you've got to be omniscient. Tell me tomorrow's lottery numbers and I'll split it with you."
That's what I'd do. And I would split it exactly half and half, cause I figure if I'm fair with God then he'll be fair with me. I'd also ask him what was the most embarassing experience he ever had. I bet that would be a good one.

Bushing off God is like saying I have no faith in any thing. We all need some goodness in this life so your legacy will be he was a true and caring person, not who cares he was a fool who only cared about him self. There is good in us all, but some times we just misplace it, seek and you shall find. God Bless us one and all.....

This being a conditional question, I'm not sure that I can. but IF God were to speak to every man, I'm sure he'd be saying the same thing.
OOH, I just thought of something: What if God was a mosquito?
