There are alot more risks when having this type of surgery at your age. I would research this type of surgery and maybe even have a consultation iwth a doctor who can give you specific pros and cons and warnings. Then you can weigh the risks and benefits and see if you think it's worth it.

It's really difficult to get the surgery. Insurance companies don't want to pay and they make it almost impossible to get approval. I gave up after 2 years of trying. I've been working out and eating less, lost some weight, 11" off my waist.
I know people who have had surgery and still are obese. It doesn't guarantee you'll be thin, just thinner, and even that might not last. After 18-24 months the weight loss stops and your metabolism is set so low that you'll probably never lose more weight no matter what you do. If you read about them some reports say you'll lose 50% of your EXCESSIVE weight so if you're 100 lbs overweight you lose 50lbs, not very much considering I've lost that much w/o surgery.

Talk to your doctor about this procedure. Weight loss surgery is very invasive and after wards you will be put a very very strict diet for the rest of your life. Have some serious speaks with you doctor and discuss all the options available. You may find that hiring a personal trainer who can put you on a exercise routine that you may lose weight faster than you think and it will be a lot healthier and less painful. In either case the key to successful weight loss is a change in life style.

Have you tried a weight-loss eating plan? The one for diabetics is excellent. Get your doctor to recommend a dietition and go in for a consultation. And find some exercise you can at least tolerate if not enjoy. I like to walk.
Weight loss surgery can have serious complications, including death. And if you don't change your eating after surgery, you will regain any weight you lose.

I tried 100% Hoodia and......
Hoodia has worked for me...and with no side effects.
Check with your doctor before starting any weight loss program.
For all you doubters, here is the prior feedback for another Answers user who followed my advice:
Asker's Rating: *****
very good comment i lost 2 lbs in a week
i think i can almost get in my leather dress, i can hit the town in no time
**** VERY IMPORTANT NOT TO GET RIPPED OFF ---
#1. Be sure you are buying pure Hoodia...look for the import certificate on the website. No matter the price, if they do not display this, you really do NOT know what you are getting!
#2. Be sure it is 100% Hoodia & not mixed w/other herbs, etc.!!
#3. Keep in mind it stops your hunger pangs…you MUST remember to break your habit to always eat at certain times.
#4. Drink a full 8oz. glass of water with it!
Hoodia (HOOD-ee-uh) gordonii - A genus of 10 to 20 species from southwestern Africa.
Hoodia gordonii is the stoneage wonder plant found throughout the dry arid regions of the South western African continent now on the verge of making history in the fight against obesity. It is a genus belonging to the Asclepiadaceae family which consists of approximately 20 species. Used to stop hunger, quench thirst, and provide energy among other things since prehistoric times, Hoodia gordonii was first discovered by the San tribesmen and women to get through the most difficult of times.

Gastric Bypass Surgery /gastrectomy/stomach stapling /lapband (all types of bariatric surgery) is very safe nowadays. It is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges obesity surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.
I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as obesity surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your obesity surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
My cousin got her surgery for gastric bypass in India through the forerunners healthcare .She is more than very happy with the results. She has lost 65lbs in 5 months. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.hope this helps
