You can probably find shows that play in EU and UK but I don't think you can get actual EU and UK satellite. Good luck, my friend!

There are various options, depending on what you want to view and what sort of satellite dish you can install.

A few European channels are offered as premium channels by Dish TV and DirecTV. These use a fixed dish pointed at a single satellite, and you're limited to the options Dish or Direct offer you.

If you are willing to pay more for equipment, and have space, you can get a movable dish and point it at various satellites. Then you can watch whatever channels are carried; some are free, and some require paying for a subscription. To explore this further, check at your local newsstand for a satellite TV hobbyist magazine, and talk to a couple of local satellite TV dealers.

Depends but the answer is usually no. TV satellites are pointed at particular area known as a footprint, it is basically the area they cover on the ground. As they are in Geosynchronous orbit the footprint does not changes and you can not see it outside of the footprint.

In addition most of the signal coming down is digital and you have to decode it. Weak signals on the edge of a footprint do not decode well if at all.

I have heard stories about European satellites being visible to eastern USA locations but most of this was years ago before things got digital and footprint tighter.

I see folks selling decoders for offshore satellites but most of this stuff is pretty touchy and depending on where you live it may or may not work. Fun hobby if you have the time.

It is cheaper and easier to download or stream video from the Internet. Look at Yahoo answers for information about watching TV on your computer.

Yes, if you get service from an international satellite service provider. The 2 US satellite providers, Dish Network and Direct TV only have a couple of international channels. But international satellite providers are out there. The previous owner of my house got satellite TV from Turkey through a specially installed satellite and receiver.

My husband is a tech for directv. He says that you can get channels like that with an international dish. Just call directv.. and tell them what youre looking for, then they can provide you with the service thats best for you.

You can get some Spanish stations but that is about it. Unless it is very powerful and you have lots of money to waste on it.
