Mine do the same thing, i have 4 boys, 4 crazy wild boys LOL and let me assure you, theres nothing u can do but lock them up to keep them off the wet floor. My big black n white decided he was going to shake the bottom of the door until the lock gave in and opens the door now, so i just deal with it. They SHOULDN'T get sick, but as I do with mine, i grab'm when im done (cuz they'll be done chasing you) wet a wash cloth and give their paws a 5 second rubdown LOL. That way, I feel like I'm doing my part! (btw can u tell none of the ones above are actually cat owners?haha)

Depending on the chemicals in the solution, most OTC, (over the counter), chemicals have a very short half life. Unless the cat is drinking from the bottle, I wouldn't worry. All they're trying to do is play with the mop, annoying, but harmless. If you are truly concerned, do as I do, put them in another room prior to mopping.

Hi April...this is a myth which has been investigated some years ago. Pet animals have not been harmed by the Swiffer web jet product. I've included the website below which explains in detail why this myth began and why it's not true.

It's a cyber myth, that swiffer wet jet causes death to pets. Still, I'd think you'd prefer to mop without paws in it and chemicals aren't good for them. I remove my pets, by taking them outside or confining in the room. But, most of the time I mop at sleepy times for my pets, so they don't get in the way.

Lock the cats in a different room while you clean your floor. It will make your cat sick!!!! It could even kill your cats. Most people wouldn't even think about it hurting the cat. But i can tell you really love your kittys.

if it's poisonous, we're not gonna lick it. We know when things are harmful to our health. Just don't use pine oil based disinfectants when mopping, as this will give your cat tongue ulcers.
