I was just reading up on anesthsia and some said that during general,they have to put a tube down your throat.I'm getting my wisdoms out tomorrow morning and wanted to know if they do this?

It depends. They may insert what is called an endotracheal (or "ET") tube into your trachea (windpipe) and provide ventilations via a bag-valve device for you, or in other words, breathe for you during the procedure.
There are a number of reasons that they may do this. One is to prevent you from vomiting and aspirating the stomach contents into your lungs while under the effects of the anesthesia. If they decide to do this, they will sedate you with medications (maybe something like Versed) through an IV so that you will relax, then another drug (a neuromuscular blocking agent, probably succinylcholine) will actually paralyse all of your muscles, making it impossible to breathe on your own until the drug wears off. Don't worry - this is a very common practice - I've done it to people myself. They WILL breathe for you while you're under, and they'll stop administering the drugs shortly after the procedure and they will wear off in just a few minutes, and you'll start breathing on your own.
This will all be done without you ever being aware of it.

Not down through your throat but at the back (tongue base area) of your mouth. That's a sunction tube (the size of an IV) that drains accumulated saliva and blood as the tooth is extracted so you don't choke on the fluids given the reflex swallowing. No general anesthesia is administered, just local.

I had all my wisdom teeth cut out and they did an consious sedation on me, no tubes down my throat!!!they will start an IV on you and give sedating medicine ( maybe diproven) that will keep you under until they are done with taking them out. You feel silly after they bring you back from sedation, but you wll do fine:)

I really don't think they do it would be kind of hard to get at you wisdoms with a tube in your mouth.

Generally, I would think that would depend largely upon the anesthesia. Also, it's possible that they do that so you don't choke on potential tooth particles.

I had one yanked and they had a suction tube, but no throat tube.

They did it to me when I had mine done. I had mine done in the hospital though. (I'm a heart patient, so they wanted to monitor my vitals closely.) If they're going to do it in the office, you have nothing to worry about.
