Look at the crap birds in the wild eat. I don't think a cookie is going to do him any harm.

Like the others said as long as the cookie doesn't have chocolate in it he/she should be fine. I have had parrots of one type or another all my life and they have eaten pretty much anything I do. ( Tho my greenwing is not too fond of sushi. )

Any good avian vet will tell you its a good thing to offer your bird a variety of foods. ( within reason of course ... you really need to watch how your bird reacts and that its not in excess ).

You absolutely want to make sure that your bird has more than seeds ... and in my opinion that dry food - pretty bird ect also. Definately needs veggies, fruit, pasta, some non salty crackers ... cookies are usually fine as long they aren't high sugar.

Again, without knowing more detail on what kind of bird its hard to say anything definatively as some birds are more sensitive to some foods.

IF nothing else to avoid ... chocolate and avocados and watch out for some fruit seeds as they can be poisonous in quantity.

More often than not your going to find that you bird will thrive on the sames things you eat. Assuming its not Red Bull and twinkies :)

OO ya and by the way ... Also, I give my bird the flavored rawhide "sticks" ( mostly for small dogs ) he digs the beef and chicken flavors ... its great for jaw strength.

He won't die. He probably loved the cookie. This is not good food for him on a regular basis though. The number one health concern of pet birds is obesity. Vegetables, bird food, and some fruit are much better for him.

Chocolate is toxic to birds. It can kill them, but probably won't in a very small dose. Just keep an eye on him. If his feathers puff up or he doesn't want to stand up anymore, it would be a good idea to call an emergency vet.

Either way, cookies are too sugary and fatty to be good for your pet. I'm sure you knew that anyway. I hope your bird is okay.

My birds get cookies, cake, chicken, french frys, Ice cream and about anything I can think of. but never let them have chocolate. There are other things that are not good for them but you need to do a search on the net for your type of bird and see what is not good for him. I printed out a list and have it hanging on the wall so we can look it up if it is a new food that they have not tried.

A little cookie isn't going to hurt, but Chocolate is a BIG NONO. Mine eat everything we eat except for Choc. and Avocado. That includes Pizza and Chicken.

I have been told that budgies can eat milk biscuits. Arrowroot Biscuits, teddy bear biscuits are most suitable. These biscuits are not hard. I bought a package of biscuit and egg dry food for them for the pet shop. Baby birds must have it mixed with water to make it crumbly but not wet. They cannot eat them dry.

I have a quaker parrot who's favorite food is fried chicken, and spaghetti noodles. He mainly eats seeds, but I always give him a little bite of whatever I'm eating.

if he ate chocolate take him to a vet immediately because if you bring him in soon you could prevent death or damage to his liver.

otherwise its probably ok, my parakeet ate part of a sugar cookie one time and he was fine.
