Doesn't it seem illogical to try to disprove the existence of something that created man with something man-made?

really! ya know? I always say: science is merely man's attempt to try and explain the art of God. Hang in there with your beliefs!

I don't think science is man-made. Man may have discovered how things work - the plants, the human body, the solar system, etc. - but man didn't make those things work that way. Sure, man expanded on the science that was already there (medicine, etc.) but that's not the same thing as creating the science.

I don't understand why people try to prove the existence of God, anyway. For one thing, it's impossible to prove. For another - a major part of believing in God is faith. Faith is faith - no proof is required.

There's a great Awake! magazine coming out...about creation or evolution in September. Look for it. It's all about proof that God does exsist. Here's a rational thought to those that don't believe in God:

A person is walking in an abandoned woods and all of a sudden comes across a house. He goes inside, sees furniture all in it's place, everything neat, food cooking and so forth...would the man just think that it all just appeared out of nowhere? No right minded man would say that. It had to be put there by someone, someone had to build the house.

The same goes with the earth, the universe, the atoms, the magnetic poles, the animals and the earth and so forth.

First, science can't disprove the existence of God(s). By definition, God(s) are beyond the scope of science.

Second, you assume there was "something that created man", and by inference, I assume you mean "God". There is no evidence to support that contention, any more than there is evidence to support the idea that we were created by the Greek or Roman God(s).

And it seems illogical to try to suggest that science has the capacity to study God(s).

The belief in God(s) is an act of faith, not an act of science.

However, science is very good at proving some of the stories in the Bible are false, such as the Flooding of the world.

You assume that there is a difference between God and science? I think there is only a human perspective that these two things are different. God and science are not necessarily at odds with each other. God created everything.....I'm pretty sure that he/she is quite well aware of how it was done.

Science should actually be proving the existence of God.....we search and research and constantly discover the exact things that God put there in the first place.

I believe in God but I empathize with those that want proof. Its natural not to believe in something you can't see or prove. There are so many half baked ideas out there, they don't know what to believe. The crooks that have been stealing from the people in the name of God doesn't help matters.

Some of the bible is taken literally by fundamentalist, talking snakes and a guy living in a whale is pretty hard to swallow (excuse pun). I think the bible speaks figuratively at times. They need proof because no one believes in things the way they use to.

CLEARLY the people who are doing that don't believe in god, and therefore don't believe that he created man!!! Is there any logic kicking around in that head of yours?

Why do people use nonsensical, non-science-based, illogical arguments to disprove evolution?? --> yes I am refering to your previous question!

Yeah, but then again they could argue that God is 'man made' as well. Mainly, people are afraid of what they can't prove, what seems 'mysterious' or in any way out of their control. So the only way to get rid of that fear is to use science. It helps them feel like they're in control of their surroundings and makes the world and the universe less random and scary. Or at least, that's my take on it anyway.

It seems illogical to posit the theory that an imaginary being created the universe.

Regardless, I don't think scientists are generally trying to disprove the existence of god. It would be a waste of time because religious mythology is so flexible, it could accommodate (and easily ignore) almost any scientific fact.

It doesn't make sense to me, but we sometimes have to look at things from the perspectives of others. If you were never taught about Jesus Christ and never felt the presence of the Lord, do you think you would still believe in Him whole heartily? Because the individuals who try to disprove our beliefs haven't actually experienced the Lord, they lack the knowledge to make sound judgments about His existence. Some atheists call us "stupid" and "brainwashed" because of our beliefs. If they could only experience the Lord the way that true Christians do, they would be along side us in church as we all worship and praise the Lord together.
