Stand up straight, walk with your head up high, look people in the eye when you are speaking to them ( but not in that creepy stalker way, hahaha), and take pride in your appearance.

Smile.
Don't use word whiskers like "umm", "uh", "you know", etc.
Nod your head a bit when people talk.
LISTEN more than you talk. People are usually so interested in doing the talking that you can get away with saying little. That way you don't need to worry as much about what you should say.
Make eye contact with the person you are talking to.
Have a prop to hold such as a drink.
It is OK to think before you speak. People will forget that you paused to think once they start listening to what you have to say. Plus, what you have to say will be more worth listening to for having thought about it.
Try to remember that so many other people feel the same way you do.
Make an effort to make other people feel comfortable when they are talking. Be a good listener. This helps to improve your interpersonal skills which will boost your confidence.

Adopt some high status behaviors:
Make good eye contact.
Hold your head still when you talk.
Don't fidget.
Stand up straight (feel like the sun is coming out from your chest)
Speak slowly.
You'll look confident, and the plus is you'll feel more confident, too.

Be prepared. When we are prepared, we are better equipped to handle situations, where knowledge, and experience may be required. You can carry that into your personal life as well.
The below quote sums it up.
