Masturbation is not the same as sex. Sex requires more vulnerability, and it is inherently more dangerous (emotionally and physically).
One doesn't need batteries to masturbate.
Just the fact that you call it "giving it up" should give you a clue about why girls won't sleep with you. Perhaps you act as if you are taking something from them, which makes them feel emotionally at risk.

Becuase masturbation is a way for a women to achieve orgasm with out getting emotionally attached to someone sex is a big step and you don't want a girl that jumps in the bed with anyone do you?
