Here is something super cheap and will be very sweet because you actually made it. Us parents are suckers for things our kids "make us". Go to the craft store and get some melt and pour soap. $6.95 2lbs. Get a scented oil that your mom will like. $3.95 approximately. Pick up a plastic soap mold set $3.95. Make her some soap. Wrap them up in tissue paper and ribbon and tuck in a hand written letter that tells her just why she is so special to you. If she does not like that girlie stuff she can still put the soap in the bathroom for visitors.
Cost of supplies $15.00 give or take a penny

you tell her..."mom thanks for being there for me and putting up with me, I know I am difficult but I am trying to work on it. I just have some emotional issues that I need help with, can you help me...I just love you so much and I want us to be a family.. Mom you are the greatest and I just wanted to say Happy Birthday and I don't know what I would do without you...thanks for being my mom".
I wish I said those things to my mother before she had passed away...

Buy her a small, pretty notebook and write a long letter to her in it covering the first few pages telling her how you feel about her and what a good mother she has been to you. It's not expensive and it's very personal.

i don't know if this is something your mom likes, but my mom likes candles. yankee candles come in a bunch of different scents and i always get my mom a different one each year for her birthday. they smell awesome and make the home smell so nice and cozy.
