I am now age 59 and recall that my mother told me as a very small child I had an older sister living in Europe. She never discussed it again. Since she left high school at age 15 or 16, that person would be 15 or so years older than me. My mother is deceased and I am not in close contact with any family especially anyone who may have knowledge. Additionally, I am thinking that no one alive will know for sure. My mother's family was originally from Poland and both her parents were born there. She was born in the USA. I do have an aunt who I think may be alive. Don't know if she would know anything or even talk about it if she did know. And being very elderly, she may not even remember. Any input on this would be helpful.

To person who suggested Peoplesearch.com. Do you realize that you need to put a person's name in to find them? I have no idea of the name of this sister.

You may be able to discover if you have a sister through census records, medical records or religious records. I suggest you start with your aunt, though. If she isn't alive there may be a cousin that has information. Sometimes families talk about things more than you would expect.

You will have to call Europe and ask some people there if they know her. Eventually someone will know who you are talking about.
