I am part of the Illaid. It's an online library that I can loan books, however it costs. It is also part of my college. I know of no free ones for non-college students.

The Library of Congress can be accessed for research material at www.loc.gov/rr/tools.html. You can also do a search for specific libraries like the Jewish Library.
