Having your door open or windows

I think they just fly in when you open and close the doors, and they get in through the cracks in windows or the holes in screens. Flies have very little to do with pets, unless you are talking about fleas??? That's a whole different insect.

if your trash can is anywhere near a window or door in your house move it because thats the number 1 reason flies are in your house... another idea might be to put those lil tapy fly things on your ceiling or close to the window that they mostly come in from... and there is also a spray that you can use to keep the flies out of your house... i guess the odor makes them leave. and try to keep your windows with the screens and the screen door shut... hope that helped!

Do you mean fleas????

You can get fleas on your clothes etc just from being outside if you are in an area where fleas are bad. If you have used furniture or a pet has ever lived on the furniture they could be coming from that. Do you live near sand- sand fleas are horrible. When we were in the virgin Islands sand fleas attacked me and when we got back to our room I was still being attacked by them.

I'd call an exterminator and ask what they recommend. You may have to bug bomb the house to kill them. They can live thru the winter feasting on your family. But defiantly talk to an exterminator at least about how to prevent them from returning after you figure out how to kill them.

Fleas? If you are asking about fleas....maybe you or your child was around someone who has pets or in someone else's house with pets and you carried the fleas home on your clothing? Also if you recently moved in, I think fleas can live up to 3 months without being around animals...(or so I was told) They can also live in the yard...maybe a neighbor has a pet? A flea bomb would be my first thought and I think you can spray your yard. I would call a local vet for some advice maybe.

Not only pets attract flies. They get in through open doors and windows.

Flies are crazy this year because it's so hot. Keep all the doors and windows closed, or at least the screens closed. They're coming inside because it's cooler inside.

Get a fly swatter. :)

We had a fly infestation once and had my uncle - a bug nut- come in to tell us there was garbage nearby they were living off of and they reproduce (maggots). Then they get into your home in the summer as they try to get out of the heat, they like air conditioning. Maybe there's some old trash nearby, doesn't even have to be at your place. Get some indoor bug spray, try to locate where they're coming from & take care of that too.

They (FLEAS) can come in with you, on your pants legs ,shoes, etc. they are attracted to the warmth and of course your blood then of course they get in your house and lay eggs and hatch. you are probably going to have to use some insecticide "bomb" them or put some kind of stuff in your carpets and treat the outside area of your house too.
You will probably have to treat the area a couple of times because of the life cycle of the hatching eggs.
You can go to this website and it will tell you more about fleas and the fact that you do not have to own a pet for them to get in your home.

every time the front door is open for to long about a dozen flies comes in or if you have your windows open and there's a small hole or even big hole they will find there way in. pets don't nessacerly have anything to do with them getting in. best way to get rid of them is fly traps

If u live in farming areas there r bound to b flies esp. during the summer. U don't have pets but yr neighbors' cat/pet (or even wild birds) may have left their droppings in yr yard ?
