Why are people so mean when you ask a question about things they have made mistakes with. I don't think people need to get ragged on when they are going through a crisis. They are asking for advice not for someone to tell them how bad they are or how bad they handled there finances. THEY ALREADY KNOW THAT I GUARANTEE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think a lot of people that come into the credit portion of this site to answer, have absolutely no idea of what they are talking about. All they are after is the 2 (worthless) points.

Then they drag out the old stale pathetic overused sayings like - pay yer debts ya deadbeat.

Little do people realize that all it takes is an illness in the family, either themselves, their spouse or their children and then if they are lucky enough (or so they think) to have insurance, the insurance company denies their claim. Lost time at work, job loss, personal loss, a disaster - natural or man made. Many things can upset the financial picture, then they will be the ones asking for the help.

Yeah, sure, this is only a yahoo forum as some may spout. But the people who are searching for answers to their problems are real enough.

Maybe the people who like to be mean will eventually start to read and understand not only their own rights, but that s#*+ happens and could easily happen to them. Or maybe not.......

Sadly many are ignorant in their own belief that nothing like it will ever happen to them.

Oh well, I guess ignorance is bliss - or so they say.

I agree with Echo. I wish we could vote on the worst answers, and deduct points from them.

It's also amusing to see collection agents come here to "help" people. They are so used to passing out incorrect information, or simply lying, that they can't switch modes and actually be helpfull to people.

I pray that one day these "pay da bill" people will someday lose their job, or have a medical disaster in their family that will destoy their budgets. Only then will the understand what people are going through.

Good question. I don't know why some people get mean. Perhaps they are angry at themselves for messing up and not being able to stop before it snow-balled into somewhat of an issue for them.

When it comes to love, money and family some folks get a little protective and defensive. That would be my guess for why some folks react in a mean-type of manner surrounding credit.

Sugar, get used to it. There are many people out there who feel really crappy about their own lives, so in order to make themselves feel better they put others down by saying crappy things. You have to remember that there are some really good folks on this website who are caring and kind and who will give you good advice or answers and you have to concentrate on those and just have pity on the ones who act like fools. Just know you have to be prepared for answers of all types when you put yourself out in internet land..

Just because a post sounds harsh, it does not necessarily mean that the person who answered a question is doing so just to be hateful..Sometimes it's harder to express an empathetic tone in written form...
Sure, there are some who may be less than helpful but you gotta overlook it and move on..

Seems like the internet brings out the worst in people, they can hide behind a computer and be the jerk they don't have the guts to be in real life. That is the only reason I can think of.

Sometimes the lack of common sense just blows people away. Why would you take a negative 5 points for asking something silly like this?

I agree with you 100%! that's why I never ask questions like those. People either think it's stupid or they answer the question rudely and that just makes me feel even worse then I did before. So anyway, I hope this information helps you! :-D

sometimes, u can just ignore them. I used to ask two or three times for only question.

But u cannot rely on this place. To me, here is a place for relax and fun. I tend not to talk about serious matter even i did some.

Some people can be so selfless. But, sometimes you still get good answers, you just have to weed through the childish answers. Some just want the points!
