My Roommate is moving out and i want to decoarte my room the way i want to...
How can i decorate the room?
I need some ideas...

What i was thinking was...i should get stencils and paint from a craft store and use that on the walls...add some christmas lights...change the linens...
Does that sound good?

You said it all in your question, "the way I want". If you want to use stencils then use them. Go to a few web sites or by 2 or 3 decorating magazines so you can really get a feel of what it is you truly love. then try a few things out have fun with it. Use stencils in a different way, instead of just putting stencils as a border. Try blocking a few together on a wall, you could even put blocks of color on the walls and then stencil in only one certain color block. and Christmas lights can be a lot of fun. get a hot glue gun and start coiling and gluing the tube lights around and make a funky lamp. Or get a big glass jar with a glass lid and put a hole an the bottom side of the jar. then put the lights through the hole and fill it with potpourri spread the lights out in the jar and enjoy a great nightlight/air freshener. You could also staple lights to the ceiling and put a timer on them so they come on at night and go off before the sun appears. Good luck if you need any more ideas just ask!!!!

Stencilling is so cool! Go for it! Check out TLC. They just showed a room on Trading Spaces this week where stenciled the branches of a tree on one wall - in red! It was so awesome! You could probably even find the stencil patterns there.

Incorporate some of your favorite colors in shimmery materials.
Christmas light are great, all of one color works best.

What I would do first is find your favorite or focal piece, and work around that.

The most inportant part is to have fun.
Good luck, Hon!

You should paint some tanks and helicopters on the wall. That sounds pretty sweet

Sounds great. What about a fake plant type garland hung over a window with white christmas lights entwined in it.

You can buy really nice garlands for about $5 each at www.beefloral.com We bought a bunch for our daughter's wedding. There are all different kinds.

That sounds good. If you like to entertain with movies and such, picking up some movie posters wouldn't be a bad idea.
