My supervisor is making remarks as if she is "getting off sexually" during my professional discussions at work. We use Nextells at work and she will say "what is your position?" "Instead of where are you?" or "What is you location?" Then she starts laughing and raises her eyebrows and looks at me. Is this sexual harassment? For our co-workers retirement she bought cucumber lotion for the lady retiring and wrote my name next to from. She is an obese (500lb) Somoan woman and I am also a woman. What is she trying to do? She is also telling me about her sex life while I am busy working (including anal sex attempt). Why is she doing that? We work around children and she is making me sick. What should I do? She is an ugly heffer! HELP!

Any comments that are making you uncomfortable at work can be considered sexual harrassment. Probably the first thing you can do is talk to the offender directly. Say something like this: "Sally, I wanted to let you know that some of the sexual comments that you've made around the office make me uncomfortable. It's affecting my work performance and I don't like it. I would really appreciate it if you didn't make any sexual jokes anymore." That could take care of your problem. However, if it doesn't, you can report it to the HR department or your supervisor's boss. Sexual harrassment is very serious. If you are uncomfortable probably other workers are too, and it could be hurting your business if the parents of the children you work with are aware of these comments.

Difficult situation when she is your supervisor. I think if i was in that position, (pardon the pun) I would first try telling her upfront that you don't find her remarks amusing and that you are offended by her behaviour. If the comments and implications continue, go see 'her' supervisor and if that's not an option or there is no one else to speak to, then I would letting her know that you will be making an official complaint to the appropriate employment protection committee.

YES, this is sexual harrassment. You should first respectfully tell her that her comments are making you uncomfortable. Next, write a formal letter to her and cc her supervisor (make sure you make a copy for your files) explaining the situation. Finally, if nothing is done, either you have to quit your job or hire legal help. Remember, though, it is illegal for them to fire you. It also helps if you can get her comments on tape (hidden recorder) so you can let her boss listen to it.

a sexual innuendo is a word or expression that can double its meaning as something sexual. and yes she is sexually harrassing you. even if she is not coming on to you, just talking to you about sex is harrassment. the fact that you are working with children is one major reason she shoyld be fired, besides the personal harrassment. if you dont have a human resourse dept. at your work tell the highest level athority. keep a written ledger of the harrassment as proof. good luck

Talk to her supervisor, at the very least this is a hostile work environment. And for her to be saying these things around children, or where children could hear it is totally inappropriate. It does sound as if she is trying somehow to impress you. Good luck.

your supervisors remarks are a sexually harassing remarks,if you want her to stop them,you tell her too or your going to have the remarks brought to a higher person up the chain.if this doesnt work. there are laws for this kind of harassment.

Yes, that is sexual harrassment. What you do about it is up to you, but you certainly have a case. You might want to try and collect tangible evidence like suggestive e-mails, or notes.

You have to tell her to stop. Then, if she doesn't stop, it can be considered harassment. You should consider, at that point, going over her head.
