I can't for the life of me understand why in your update you deny this is "Pascal's Wager". It is exactly and precisely Pascal's wager. Except he didn't use "cuz".
All the standard answers to Pascal's Wager apply here (how do you know which God to worship and religion to follow? Why would a God respect someone who worships "just in case" but doesn't actually believe? And others)
The existence of Hell is NOT an impossibility. But there are an unlimited number of possible hells, none of which I can disprove. Anything I do, I may potentially end up in some possible hell.
Actually thinking that way, following your questioning to its logical conclusion, leads to insanity.

"What is the consequences if i choose to Not convert to atheism? nothing right?"
Wrong. What if god is only going to let those people in to heaven that are brave enough not to believe in him, while sending everyone else to hell? If that's the case then only the atheists and agnostics will be going to heaven. So no, the consequence for not being an atheist isn't nothing, it's hell!
What's going to happen to you if you're praying to the wrong god? What if you're going to hell because you're not praying to the Islamic god? What if you're going to hell for not worshipping Darth Vader and he might use "the force" to strike you down at any moment?
Pascal's wager doesn't work.
"this is not 'pascal's wager' because i am not trying to argue. its a simple question isnt it?"
It looks like you asked at least 4 quesetions, and they're not simple.

Speaking solely for myself, I don't believe in hell - not in the fire & brimstone sense, anyway. So why pretend to believe something I don't to protect me from something I don't believe in? (Not an atheist - just not a Christian.... sometimes I feel like the phrases are interchangeable in the cyber-world!)

I don't think its as easy as choosing to accept Christ just so you won't go to Hell. i don't think Jesus is all about lip service. A person needs to follow the path that Jesus showed us with a PURE HEART, not a heart that is only doing it for the "what its"

I don't "believe" in it because I'm an atheist. But I have a good backing for being an atheist. I'm different from the fakes that just become atheists just to "get out of hell." Which makes no sense at all to as an atheist wouldn't even worry about that stuff.
History shows that the ancient religions were 'fake' and were instruments of MEN.
What makes today's religions, which have been basically branched off of the basic beliefs of these ancient religions, any more "genuine"? Today, hundreds of religions and denominations exist. Surely not ALL of them can be true...with their conflicting ideas. So what makes your ideas of heaven, hell, Jesus, God, true?
Ancient religions were created by men for power. Egyptian priests used SCIENCE to predict solar eclipses for instance. And they would do their funky stuff in front of the masses of people to show that the gods were indeed real, and that they are the messengers of the gods.
Greek/Roman gods. Basically the majority of the Roman Empire believed in them. Looking back at them now...well. Looks like all that religious mumbo jumbo they did was for nothing. Right? Only one true God? Right?
Not. Perhaps a thousand years later, people would laugh at us at our "ancient" beliefs or just think of them as oddities as we do to the Egyptian, Greek/Roman, Norse, etc religions.
Religions were initially creative little things that people created to keep the people in line. "Morally" As times changes, so do society's regarding of morals and etiquette's. Thus bringing revolutions in religions. Different societies make their own religions and believe in what they feel is right or in what bests fits their overall ideologies.
And ironically, all these differences in religions inevitably turned into war, strife, bickering, and also inevitably into this online thread, which would have never occurred if they were "real." Of course, as religions were created by humans, they have faults. All modern religions preach inner peace and love to some extent. Ironically, people fight over them.
If you look at the bigger picture, you may be able to see that all this religion stuff is fake. Especially due to the fact that they created what they tried to prevent = wars. Of course. Many of you won't because of your previous preferences of religions, which were usually works of a type brainwashing. For example, many are baptized when they are infants and they inevitably grow up as Christians.
So anyways. I believe, with factuous backings, that there is no heaven or hell or and supernatural beings for that point. What factuous backings do you have that this is all real? That book you call the Bible? The Bible is a book that can't be interpreted literally. In other words, it's just a book of morals and how people should live. We can see how societical changes over time impacted Christianity. For example, the Old Testament states, "eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth" but as time changed and societies became more civilized, the New Testament, (Jesus), states, "love thy neighbor as you love thyself." As I said before, religions were made by man, and over time they were revised to fit themselves. As new and diverse soceties sprouted, more diverse denominations came to be.
But as I stated before, the only problem with religions is that they created what they set out to prevent...wars. For that reason I am atheist. If they didn't...sure I'll buy it. I'll become a Catholic (again). I won't buy the God, Mary. Jesus, The Crucifixion, and all that made-up stuff. I would just follow the morals that the Bible teaches.
But in the mean time, I'll just follow the laws the government provides. It's safer and more stable.
(Meh...you could ALL be wrong...Maybe we'll all get zapped by Zeus someday and fall into the Underworld, just to get tortured by Hades. Ha. Everyone just be good to each other and don't fight. That's all the "religion" that you all will ever need.)

It is a choice, to believe, or not believe. It has a lot to do with a person's upbringing. Like I always say You don't have to believe it, You just have to do it. They will find out. For those who doubt, find a Bible, or look it up on the web, the story of Lazarus and the Rich Man. One of the best versions I have read about believing is, get right, or get left.
God Bless

Hell is real - I just have an interesting thing you might want to try or observe. See how hot Sulfur burns and that might give you an idea of how hot it will be. Remember those who are in hell will be in a pit of burning sulfur.

I am a christian but your reasoning is illogical.
Also Hell is not literally "fire", but rather separation from God.
Using YOUR logic you could also say : "Why is the possibility of Hell not existing so impossible to you". (Yes, know a double negative.)
Please, fellow Christians, If you are gonna argue with Atheists please make sure your IQ is greater than an ape. Otherwise the Atheists will use that as evidence that you evolved from one.

I believe in hell, but I have a lot of atheist friends and they dont believe in a heaven or a hell. They believe when you die you just turn to dust and you are not more. There is no mind to tell you where you are so you dont experience heaven or hell. Of course the idea of nothingness scares me more than hell. But that is how they view it. As nothingness and if it works for them, then more power to them.
