They went from Polish jokes to Black jokes to Hispanic jokes. Once those were deemed COMPLETELY socially unacceptable, they went to sorority and blonde jokes. You can't make fun of a race with offensive stereotypes, but you can make fun of hair color with offensive stereotypes. (But they are pretty funny, aren't they?)
And I think it was in the early 90's.

Polish jokes began to be replaced by blonde jokes circa 1969-1972 . The blond craze was on. The Televiosion show Laugh in was the rage. Goldy Hawn played the dumb ditzi blonde on the smash hit television show Laugh In , only wearing a bikini with body paint and dancing the go Go. She was the butt of the blond Jokes for Rowan and Martin the show's host.

I remember Polack jokes in the 1960'2-1970's, after that I don't remember hearing them. Somewhere in the late 1970's, early 80's (big hair, Charlie's angels era?) the blonde jokes started.
It could vary in different parts of the USA, don't think these jokes are anywhere else!

Uh, proably when every woman on the planet started bleaching their hair!! I heard this statstic that 1 out of 5 American women dye their hair blonde!

When it became very 'un-PC' to make slanderous 'jokes' about ethnic people, but OK to do the same thing with blondes.
