The Trinity is one of the hardest concepts for our finite minds to grasp. The best example I've heard (and even this one has flaws) is to compare it to a man. How can the man be a son, a husband and a father and still be just one man?
The difference in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is that they also exist separately, as well as being one. It's a mind blower.
The best proof I've found of this is in Genesis 1:28: "Let US make man in OUR image..." (my emphasis added). That argues for a plural God, yet a unified God. Not polytheism, but monotheism with a triune God.

God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost are three distinct and separate beings that are one in purpose, the salvation of mankind. Matthew 3: 16-17 clearly shows the trinity as Jesus in the water, the Holy Ghost descending like a dove and a voice from heaven (God)all at the same time. God created all things through Jesus (Ephesians 3:9), thus "Father" is sometimes used for either God the Father or Jesus. I agree that it can be difficult at times to know the difference.

a long time ago the heads of the church of rome the catholic church came together under the order of emporer constantine to create the rules of christianity. True story. They met in a town called Nycea. At this meeting they debated whether or not jesus was divine, whether god was one or three(trinity),and even which scriptures belonged in the bible. The trinity was what they chose. The trinity means that god is three parts in one, he is god the father, jesus the son, and the holy ghost. God is the creator above, Jesus is the human, manifestation of god on earth, and the holy spirit is the essence of god in all things he created. So is jesus a part of god yes, he is god in human form, spreading the word on earth. Hope this helped

I believe that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are three distinct beings. They all follow the will of the Father because Jesus is a perfect Son of God and he has relinquished his will to the Father. The Holy Spirit testifies of the Father and of Jesus and of truth to those who will listen.
I believe that God has a Physical body (that is why we are here, to get a physical body like his) and Jesus also has a Physical body, but the Holy Spirit has no Physical body but exists only as Spirit so that he can carry out God's will and communicate directly with our Spirit...
In 1st John... In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (or something like that)... tells me that Jesus (the Word) was in Heaven with God before the universe existed and God gave Jesus his power to create the Physical universe so Jesus became the God of the Old Testament, talking to Adam and Eve and the Prophets.. until He was born into this world in Physical form.

According to my knowledge and my beliefs, God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are three separate beings. Many people believe They are one God. Physically, they are separate, in purpose they are one. The example in your question helps to clarify this. When Christ was in Gethsemane, suffering for our sins, he called on the father "Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done" (Luke 22: 42). Also, in Matt: 3: 16-17, the Bible says, "And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." These are examples that show that God the Father, Jesus the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit are separate beings. On the other hand, you might wonder why it says in the scriptures they are one. For example, among others: 1 John 5: 7, "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word (which is Christ), and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." (I added the clarification). This states that the three are one, meaning they are unified in purpose and spirit and whatever else. The point is that they are UNIFIED as One. They are not physically one being.
But don't take my word for it, nor the word of the rest of the yahoo answer-ers. Find out for yourself. Pray about it sincerely. Study it.

Please understand what I am going to state - God cannot be placed in a box. With that said, our understanding is only finite to what God knows and understands. God can do anything and that means having a physical body on this Earth to show His own how to live.
The other reason for Jesus Christ was to spill His blood so that we could be reconcilled with God.
The answers to your questions - God created Jesus through Mary who gave birth to the savior who would die upon the cross. When He left us and Acended to Heaven we were then left with The Holy Spirit who resides within us and converses with God our creator.
God is the Creator
Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice for our reconcilliation to God
The Holy Spirit allows us to talk to God

This is a very tough concept to understand. God is the Father, Jesus is God the son and the Holy Spirit is God's presence on earth. They are three distinct entities but one God.

Jesus came to earth as a human, so he talked in "third person" in a way , inorder to convey to the simple message to the jews that you must love God> JEsus was/is God, but he came to set the perfect human example for us to follow> Think about this, God the father is the "eternal" sun and Jesus is the "eternal" rays that Proceed from the sun forever, the holy spirit is the warmth you feel if you are in the "suns" presence>

Jesus IS God. As to the how, I don't know, that's the mystery of the incarnation! The Council of Nicea was convened to address these very concern. Contrary to what the Da Vinci Code popularised that it was a council to decide upon the divinity of Christ, that council was actually convened to resolve HOW Christ was divine, His divinity not being questioned and already believed for three hundred years. Did the council resolve the how? No they did not. The outcome was the Nicene Creed that affirmed in no unclear statement that Christ was fully God and fully man.

Jesus not only was 'part' of God, he was and IS God. God in the flesh come to earth to dwell in a human body. So He could in essence be 'the son of God' since he came from God and dwelt in a human body, and God himself. He was also the 'son of man' becuz he was born of a woman. These are the lengths that God went to for man's salvation. One sinless man must die for the sins of all mankind. God indwelt a human body, lived a sinless life, and then offered that body as a sacrifice for the sins of the whole world.
