I am living with my crazy old grandfather. He always keeps the basement door locked. But at night I can hear scratching and strange sounds coming from down there. I found out where he hides the key. Should I go open that door and see what's down there? I am a small built girl but I am not afraid.

In a poorly written scary movie I think you would. Also I think we all know how it ends up in the poorly written scary movies.

Maybe he has an animal down there. Obey him and do not open the door. He is your grandfather and whatever he does is his business. "Crazy old" is a disrespectful way of describing him. Give him the respect he deserves. You may never live to see his age.

I would say let the old man have his privacy cause when you're old people are always trying to do things for you and treat you like a baby again. They either want to put you away in an old folks home or put you in an adult diaper and feed you baby food. Who needs that? Besides, if it was you with the locked door you'd probably want him (or anyone else) to stay away from it.

You can, but you may not like what you find. Have some friends over for backup purposes then open the door....and....AAAHHHH!.

be afraid be very afraid do you really want to know what your grandfather does alone in the basement with the door locked ....you could scar yourself for life

Probably some animal like a cat or rat. If you're going to check, make sure you bring a bat or stick with you.

u sould be care full did he tell u not to go down there, does he have a cat or it could be a racoon or the air conditioner or the furnace or the pipes who nows id find out if it was me

I'd say it's probably just some bugs or maybe some mice or rats. But...you never know.
