I hate school soooooooooo much

I wake up at 5:00 and go to the bus, and I go to all my stupid classes all day that I hate...like, I don't get any fun classes at all, I am taking-

AP Language and Composition
Spanish 3 Pre IB
IB World History
AP Macro Economics
IB Biology 2
IB Psychology
IB Theory of Knowlege
IB Math Studies

IB and AP are different forms of college credit classes

and then I get out of school at 2:40 and I have to go straight to the pool that is like five minutes away from my school, and I have a 3 hour swim practice every single day because I am on the swim team...

and I don't get home until like 6:30, and then I have to take a shower and eat dinner, and its close to 7:30 by the time I am done like that

and then I always have hours of homework every night and I am always so exausted and I can barely do it and I just end up like crying every night because I just really don't want to have to go back the next day and do it all again

Welcome to the Matrix. You are being trained for a life too busy for personal fulfillment.

If it was me, I'd quit the swim team. That might be the best part of the day for you, but I doubt you have the option to drop your classes. And you do need some time to just be or to do things you love.

Well, I would suggest that you try to cut back on your classes. You do need about five difficult (like AP/IB/college) classes to get into a good college. And you should not be taking more than five academic classes at college anyways. So why work yourself harder than you would most likely have to work in college? Besides, if you burn yourself out taking all the classes and don't do as well on the AP/IB exams as you want, all your hard work won't have profited you as much as it should be able to, as you won't get college credit.

I would suggest dropping AP Econ, Theory of Knowledge, and/or Psychology just because they probably aren't the most essential items on your schedule. That would leave you with a math, a science, an English, a history, and a language, which would look good to a college. They're all high level classes. Just make sure you get everything you need to graduate from high school.

As to swim team--if you hate it, stop doing it. If you love it normally, you might continue. Just make sure it doesn't interfere with you getting good grades.

As for me, I'm only taking five APs (some of them easy ones like Stats) and an honors class, and I'm participating in quiz bowl at my school and some volunteering on the side. And I'm president of the Math Honor Society. I'll probably get a bit tired and be up until about 11:00 each night, but I'll manage without burning myself out (although that might be because I'm an insomniac anyways). I'll still have some time to relax. And I think my classes and activities will get me into a good college.

You are pushing yourself way too hard. The fact that you cry every night is a symptom that you've overloaded yourself. Scale back some, and don't worry, there are plenty of good colleges who would consider you an excellent applicant. I, myself, overloaded my schedule last semester and I couldn't sleep, I was so stressed. That told me I had taken on more than I could comfortably handle, and so I dropped a class. I go to school year round and work really hard to keep a 3.0 plus GPA, but I really enjoy, for the most part, the classes I'm taking. I relish the hard work, actually, because I've found the career path I want to pursue after college. I hope you think about scaling back because you are headed towards a nervous breakdown if you don't, and that could set you back.

Maybe you are taking too many classes. Is it possible to get out of a couple of them at least? I know it's hard but your doing all of this studying for a reason and you have to keep reminding yourself of what that reason is. You probably have a career goal in mind and without all of these classes you will never get there. Put notes and pictures up in your room that will remind you of where you want to be in life once your education is finished, which, believe it or not it will be some day. It seems like forever when your going through it but it really goes by very fast. Just do the best you can and like I said, try to drop the classes that are the least important right now. Good luck!

It sounds to me like you NEED to make some changes in your life. If you absolutely hate going to school and are miserable, perhaps there is some alternative. Ask yourself what you'd like to do instead and how that choice will impact your future but also your happiness.

Maybe you are a first year student and haven't choosen a major. If so, second year, will be much more interesting because you will actually be able to pick what you want to learn about. If you feel that school is necessary for a directed, successful future and quiting isn't an option, perhaps you can enroll in something you may actually enjoy. Take an aptitude test and find out what you might be suited for.

My last piece of advice concerns the lack of time you seem to have. Peppered throughout your question is the structure and time constraints of your days. Perhaps you need to take on fewer tasks or schedule some time just for you, when you do nothing but relax.

Feel better? I hope so. You have a heavy load, but you seem to be ambitious. You have lost the enthusiasm you had for classes and swimming, which may mean you are depressed. You should talk to your doctor or try counselling. You will not always like eveything you do, but you should get pleasure out of some of the things you do.

Ultimately, you will have to decide if college or swimming is worth what is becoming a severe burden. First, though, try to remember why you took all this on and the feeling that you could do it. You can, but not if you talk yourself into hating it every day.

If you don't like school, don't bother going to college. You definately won't like college classes.

What is this "good school" thing that is going around anyway. There are many, many excellent colleges and universities. And there very little difference between them except for the competition level with other students, and the perceived "status" of going to that school gives you. I tell you, better to get a 4.0 average at a State University, than a 3.0 at a Harvard. Grades will be the number one thing that employers look for, except for those lucky few who have the connections. Who you know is more important than what you know. Most college students think it is the other way around, but it's not. It's who you know that will get you farthest in life. And don't forget about developing a good personality! Good luck.

Don't suffer burnout. It sounds like you are busy. Mingle with the really smart people in your classes. That sometimes make you enjoy comparing how well you are doing. Drop the swim team if you feel it is too overwhelming. At first you will miss it but you will get over it. Always make room for nothing but you for at least 1 hour a day. Things wil fall into place. Good luck

It is a huge load that you are carrying, but it's a great load and you're right, it will look really good on college applications. Just remember, you won't be there for the rest of your life, and it is preparing you for the real world when you get there. Actually, it sounds like you'll be way ahead of the real world which is exactly where you want to be in life. Keep up the great work!!!!

AP Macro Economics
IB Psychology
IB Theory of Knowlege
IB Math Studies

then what "can" you do if you can't drop any classes or stop swimming...?

When I'm overwhelmed I believe that it is time to repriortize.
then do the most important 1st and, if there is time, finish it,,
then the next most important 2nd and, if there is time, finish it,
then the next most important 3rd and, if there is time, finish it,
etc.
and if I don't have time to do somin'
well, at least the things that I did were the most important to ME
and I don't worry about what I didn't have time for.
THEN
after i finallllllyyyy get "caught up" I become
slow to take on difficult or time consuming task because I love leisure.....
