That's about average here for a teen who drives themselves to your home. If I go to pick up a teen, I pay them around 8 an hour.
I'm a big believer in getting what you pay for, so if I find a good sitter, I'm willing to pay more for her.

That's WAY too much for a babysitter. Normal charge is about $3.00 per hour. On a weekly basis, about $75. If it's on a Saturday night or something, for a couple hours, I would give $10-15.

I'm a babysitter, some families pay me $10 an hour. I feel bad that they give me that much, alot of times I don't feel that I do enough work to merit that kind of money. Normally if they ask I'll say something like $5 an hour.

My cousin is 15 and she baby sat my daughter who is 6 (and never had a baby sitter) for the first time a couple weeks ago. We paid her $10 for almost two hours. When we handed it to her, she said she would babysit my daughter anytime. We thought it was because my daughter was well behaved, but when we asked her dad about it, he said because we paid her so much (and our daughter was really good). We were told the people she normally babysits for give her $20 a night to watch anywhere between 3-8 kids. We live in Michigan in a very rural area, so that might be part of the cheap rate.

My babysitter charged me $20-25 per day. That is for a full day. It usually was $125.00 per week. If it was just for several hours, however, I just asked my husband what he would pay for a babysitter (our daughter is 7) and he said 10. so maybe she wasn't that far off by asking for that. Especially if your kids are small, and bratty. I know some kids that are a real handful on occassion (including my own).

As a graduate student and a former preschool teacher I've been paid $10 an hour but for a teenager I would say 5-7 would be enough, unless you live in an area with a really high cost of living.

depends how many kids you have. I babysit a 2 and a 3 yr old and get 10 dollars a hour. However they are young and need a lot of attention. I also babysit a 8 and 9 yr old and get 6 dollars a hour. Hope I can help.

I myself am a profesional babysitter and i charge 5 dollars a child, and 6.50 per hour. i also have children of my own so i believe that any where between 5-7 dollars is reasonable.
