is it true that chickens only lay one egg a day??????

I have had a few that would lay two a day and some that layed every other day. And then there were the ones that only layed once a week. They became Sunday dinner. Good luck.

It depends on the species of hen. Some breeds are really good egg layers, but some only lay once every other day.

My chicken, HoneyMamma lays 1 at a time. Then afterwards she clucks up a storm.

usually!! but if the light is regulated yu can make them lay 2 a day?? i like the double yolk eggs tho!!great for egg salad!!

Usually that's all they lay, sometimes I'll get a surprise and get more than one from a hen.

Yes, because it takes that long for a shell to form around the yolk.
