The average IQ is set at 100, by definition, with the range being zero to 200. The standard deviation for most populations is around 15-17, meaning 80% of all people are within one standard deviation of 100, that is 85-115, and approximately 98% are within 2 standard deviations, i.e. 70-130, and 99.6% are within 3 standard deviations, i.e. 55-145.
Age doesn't enter into it, since your score is adjusted for your age. IQ can go up and down, depending on some environmental factors, but most experts now feel that it is at least 2/3 genetic, meaning you were born with your IQ potential.
IQ isn't everything. There are many high IQ people who never amount to anything, and there are many lower IQ people who achieve alot. Mohamed Ali, the prize fighter, had an IQ of ~85, and then there is always George W. Bush and Al Gore, both of whom have only mildly above average IQ's, according to what I have read.

Actually, any accurate IQ test will figure your age into your score, so a 45-year-old might have the same IQ as you...or a 6-year-old could have the same score, etc. Does that make sense? Your score will never change significantly with age. "Normal" is around 100 People are intelligent and smart in different ways. No test can really determine something like that.t all depends what test you take..There all different! Also, dont live by the test, i mean you know yourself your a good smart person. Do you really need some little paper to tell you who you are? The avg. is about 100 or something or like 90. But it all depends. Good luck bud!
