Check the dates on the yogurt container. Don't go past the experiation date on the yogurt.

I'm a yogurt fan so first you look at the color, if it's out of the ordinary like yellow then it's bad,
Second you smell it, if it's stinks then no
Third, check the expiring date.....duh...

it smells funny, the expiration date was along time ago, and if u try eating it, it has a awful taste and it taste sour

Not if you don't read the expiration date and if you keep it refrigerated like many other food products.
