Well. Since you're probably right around the right weight for your height, you don't really have to go on a diet to lose any weight, but I do understand what you're saying. You should really make a conscious effort to avoid eating junk food so often and focus on eating foods that are both nutritious and satisfying. For instance, if you are ready for a snack, don't grab a bag of chips, instead try to find something to make your own trail mix. Say some peanuts, dried cranberries, some m&ms and crushed up whole wheat pretzels. You'll get the crunchiness, the sweet and saltiness that you crave from sweets or chips, but it's healthy and will hold you over until a meal time.

Several weeks ago I wanted to start eating healthier and also lose a few pounds. I went on weight watchers and it has completely change the way I eat because the program teaches you about portion control and eating the right kinds of foods to stay nourished. Plus you can also indulge in junk food whenever you get a craving. Try to find someone who has an extra booklet or points slider to get a feel for some stuff. You'd be surprised how bad some things you think are good for you really aren't.

I would also suggest that you drink a lot more water because it helps to clear the body of toxins and other unhealthy things that don't get flushed out with sodas or other sugary drinks.

Also, find an exercise program that you really enjoy because like water, exercise will keep you fit and reduce stress. I like to do a combination of yoga, running and isometrics because it always keeps me interested and I'm never bored. You may find you like running, weight training and basketball. Your friends can get in on the act too by having a group game of hoops.

Good Luck and Namaste!

First thing to do is to ease up big time on the junk food and snack food. Eat a normal healthy diet, including vegetables and fruits. Drink plenty of fluids and get adequate sleep and rest. Make sure to exercise regularly. Your body is still developing so if you put good habits in place now, your body will develop properly. At the same time, there's no rule that says you can't enjoy some pizza every once in awhile.
