I can only assume that you are using limewire, or another file-sharing program to download Windows XP. Running the program this way will cause problems. For one, it is actually illegal, and 2 you don't have the proper codes. I suggest next time you try to download something, legally, try right-clicking on it, going to save as..., and chosing to put it in a file on your desktop that you have made for this, or directly to your desktop. I would nix the XP and buy it, it will not work without the code, and chances are you have downloaded a virus or incomplete file anyways.

what exaclty do you mean by downloaded? upgraded? or you downloaded an installer for windows xp?

try a search. Click start then search. or use google desktop to search that file.
