In my opinion: not necessarily too old, but dangerously irrelevant when it comes to presidential politics. Everyone in the US owes Nader their thanks for revolutionizing the marketplace to protect consumers. Astonishingly, he managed to wipe that debt right off the map by handing the 2000 election to Bush. Like the pointless deaths of thousands in Iraq with no end in sight? Like the religious right being able to decide what your kid can learn in school? Like the ever-progressing decline in civil liberties? Thank Ralph. I don't know how he can sleep at night and I will never support any political endeavor of his again. --Wow, I sound strident even to myself. I have a son who may be fighting this ridiculous war in another ten years so I guess I take it personally. I'm really very fun at cocktail parties. :)

No way. He's much more sane and coherent than anyone else who's run for the office in some time. The problem is that both the Repubs and the Dems have invested so much energy trying to keep people from listening to him speaking long enough to even judge that for themselves.

The oldest president was 69 when he was sworn in and he was president for another 8 years, which made him 77 when he left office. This man was not the favorite president of many Americans to say the least but that had little to do with his age and some say more to do with his having had Alzheimer's. Ralph Nader's memory, on the other hand, is much better than many people a third his age.

A person 70 today is like a person 50 generations ago. It's actually probably about the right age to become President, although I don't know about Nader in particular.

No. There is no age maximum to be president, but there is an age minimum of 32. If you think 70 is old, try 77, which was how old President Reagan was when he left office.

The American voters have their heads where the sun doesn't shine, so no Ralph Nader.

Woody got it right. No matter how old he is chronologically the guy is as good as senile.
