No, SD cards are not a standard for all digital cameras. They are one specific type of memory card. In addition to SD cards, there are compact flash cards, memory sticks (2 types) , and xD cards.
If you are trying to fit a specific camera, refer to your owner's manual or take the camera with you to the store and the sales associate will be able to help you.

No...every digital camera is different.
My daughter has a 5mp HP camera that takes the smaller SD card.
I have 2 Sony Cameras. The smaller 4.3mp camera only takes a memory stick. My new 10mp camera takes BOTH memory stick pro AND compact flash cards.
Your camera user guide should tell you what type of card you need. If all else fails take your camera to an electronics store and they can help you purchase the right card.
Most memory cards are made by many different manufacturers and offer competive pricing. Do some research and price checking to make sure you get the best bang for your buck.

An SD card will fit any camera that takes SD cards. I know that sounds stupid, but you might be asking if you need a specific brand of SD card fro certain cameras and you don't. SD cards are universal if that's what you are supposed to put in your camera.
