The key is not to stick to a diet, its change your diet habit and eating pattern. Diet only last for so long and you tend to get bored, burned out, or even sick of eating the same thing.
As a professional, I worked with many clients. The goal is to make better choices with your meals, and plan ahead. This way you can still enjoy what you are eating and still able to control your weight.
3 questions you should consider when you want to lose weight:
How much to eat per day in calories?
What types of foods?
When to eat?

These questions will give you a blue print on your dietary plan to lead you to success and you don't even have to "diet". It takes time and effort, nothing is easy. If you really want to succed you have to do it and not to try it. I hope this helps, best of luck.

First of all, congrats on wanting to start a diet.

I've been on a diet for over 6 months now and have lost 63 lbs. It takes discipline and endurance. Also, set mini goals rather than large goals. Like buy a pair of pants in a smaller size and hang it in your closet, and say to yourself in a month you will fit into them. Instead of saying I want to loose 50 lbs, setting minigoals will help you keep on track!

Good luck!

don't think of it as a diet...it's more of a lifestyle change. the minute you say diet you set yourself up for failure. if you think of long term...like the rest of your life then you'll be able to keep it off longer and it won't be just a quick fix.

good luck!
