Aaron was old, he was a priest. Joshua was not quite as old, and he was a military man. The Exodus was over. Israel needed an army leader to take them in.

Hey stupid go back and reread that book, Joshua was a war-leader and there fore could not enter the holiest of hollies like Aaron could who was the High Priest and did not bloody his hands committing genocide on the Canaanites
