I have lupus and i need to take steroids beecause my immune system is low and all i wanted to know is if it will effect me in some way ?

I would suggest talking to your doctor about drinking. I wouldn't recommended getting drunk while on steroids there can be serious and deadly side effects. One drink or two probably isn't going to hurt anything. However I am not an Doc. so I would suggest speaking with them.
Type the name of your steriod in on yahoo health and see what it says about alchol consumption.

When you drink alchol with any medication that requires medical prescribtion it can damage your liver. Since you have lupus, your immune system is already low, with the presence of alchol it can even cause more damage with your immune system. In addition, the alchol can sometimes counter act with medication which will cause the medication to lose its function. Therefore, I recommend that you either consume very low amount of alchol or quit drinking completely. Find something else to do for socializing.

people who suffer from lupus may have adverse reactions when taking steroids and consuming alcohol. I would advise against consuming any alcohol if at possible or at the very least do not overindulge. you may find your lupus pain flaring up more often and you ( and your doctor) may find more difficulty getting to the source of the problems. In any case, the best thing you can do for yourself is to be completely honest with your doctor about all drug and alcohol comsumption, as i mentioned before, you may react very differently from others who may take the same amounts of alcohol or drugs. Actually, nothing. While on high dosages (60-120 milligrams) of steroids for Crohn's Disease. I consumed 2-3 large cocktails daily to combat the nausea, which was caused by the steroids. No harm, no foul. This was done with my doctors knowledge and approval.
I'm not implying that it is OK; Only that it worked for me.

I dont think you want to experiment with that lethal combination... Stereoids are sometimes bad enough by themselves and adding alcohol in the mix to boost up the metabolism of the stereoids does not sound like a good idea. Road rage and aggressiveness can intensify quite alot if both of them are taken at once.
A doc can help you with more detailed info.
