Or would it say Windows 98 SE during boot up??

Windows 98 Plus is an add-on to the Win98 OS. It adds additional features like screen svers, desktop themes and games (I forgot what they are).

The 'SE' in Windows 98SE stands for "second edition". It is an upgraded version of the original Win98 with significant changes. For example USB drivers can be installed on the SE version only.

No SE = second edition. Plus! was just an add-on with some extra themes and junk etc...

However I believe Plus! could be installed on 98 original, or 98 Second Edition, so it depends what version you had in the first place.

You should be able to check your system properties to find out what you have installed by holding the [Alt] key and pressing [Pause/Break].
