For some I guess it is a matter of wanting something to own and call their own. Stick built and modular homes are very expensive now. I live where a few people own 5-10 acres of land and live in trailers...

They are all mostly lower middle class but good people. Their income prohibits them from building a home with a foundation.

If you own land, who cares what you live in? These people are happy and will be able to pass land onto their kids..

I think if you offered one of these people a brand new home in a 1 ft away from your neighbor 1/8 acre property, they would say no.

Anyway, have you even been in some of these trailers they make now....jeez...I have a gorgeous 2 story home that doesn't even have some of the features they do!!!

Don't know where your from pizza man, but some people just cannot afford to live in a home. And whereas people can rent/lease a home, they can purchase a trailer home for cheeper and own it themselves.

You might also want to ask why do homeless people live on the street when they can live in a house?

Some people just make different choices and want different things than others. Let them be, and worry about your life rather than theirs.

Well, some people live in Colonias, which are makeshift communities on the fringes of town with little or no water, electricity and roads. They buy or rent the land and put a trailer on it.
They make monthly payments to landlords or finance companies instead of going to a bank and applying for a loan since good credit is needed.

I don't know, I've always wondered the same thing. There's a famous radio DJ where I live who lives in a trailer. You would think with all that money a DJ makes, he would buy a nice home.

I THINK MAYBE SOME PEOPLE CAN NOT AFFORD A HOUSE..AND WE SHOULD NOT JUDGE THEM..SOME PEOPLE HAVE VERY NICE TRAILERS..OWNING A HOUSE HAS MORE EXPENSE COMPARED TO A TRAILER..ONE YOU MUST HAVE HOME OWNERS INSURANCE FOR A HOUSE, PROPERTY TAXES ARE HIGHER, ELECTRIC IS HIGHER, HEATING COST MORE. SO MAYBE NOT ALL CAN AFFORD OR WISH TO LIVE IN A HOUSE..WHY DO YOU CARE ANYHOW...PERSONALLY I WOULD NOT LIVE IN A TRAILER JUST FOR THE FACT IT NEVER GAINS VALUE BUT DECREASES BUT FOR SOME PEOPLE THEY ARE OK WITH IT..

Maybe that's all they can afford. Or they want to be mobile. And some folks like the trailer-park atmosphere. Who knows? Why do some people like french-fries? I guess it's just a matter of preference.

I see by your multiple posts on people living on trailers, that you are being ignorant and asking ignorant questions, so I see there is no need to amuse you with an indignant answer.

Trailers are cheap, and you can get a brand new one for about $25,000.
